Favorite concert you've been to

Corona kinda messed up everything in the live music scene so I thought it would be a good time to remember our favorite live shows. Mine was a very recent show. In January, I saw Periphery, Plini and Arch Echo preform and it was a very cool experience. I showed up early so I could be in the front. It was a great time. The crowd was very energetic (almost too energetic, I got kicked in the back of the head by a crowdsurfer lmao), but despite that, the show was very cool. I got to meet some of the dudes after the show which was also pretty cool. Overall, very cool experience, now it's your turn

I remember seeing Radiohead back in the nineties after they released OK Computer. Probably the best concert I’ve been to. Another good one was Joanna Newsom a few years ago.

The An Evening With Demon Hunter tour was amazing. I don't think any concert could beat that other than another Demon Hunter concert. The way that they had their show split up into two parts, War and Peace, like the albums they released last year, was genius. After waiting ~12 years for the opportunity to see them live, I managed to get VIP tickets for the show in Sauget, IL. My sister and I were able to meet the guys, have some of our stuff signed (I should have had them sign the vinyls I have), and have our pictures taken with them. I'd love to see them again! Those guys don't tour very often. They're the only band that I know the lyrics to every single song.
No! So now you're suffering the fallacy of what you said When you uncover the depression from where you've tread Breathe over the glass you wrote on, swallow all that you waste your throat on You wear the make and wave the banner they made with sin Revealing every single lie that you've been breeding within Wash over the skin you've broken, think over the tone you spoke in So lost in your affliction, the solemn comfort of your grave If you close your eyes, the light can't take it away So lost in your addiction, the solemn comfort of your grave If you close your eyes, the light can't take it away (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again The blind will follow on the path that you created in vain No guiding light, but just the shadow of the dead will remain Dig open the pain you're hiding, give your hand to the faith you're fighting The void you suffer is a curse forever bleeding inside Now you embrace the fatal sickness you should despise, remember the day you lost that Where is the shame that will bring your soul back? So lost in your affliction, the solemn comfort of your grave If you close your eyes, the light can't take it away So lost in your addiction, the solemn comfort of your grave If you close your eyes, the light can't take it away (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again Reach back behind your pride, pull the thorn from your burning pain in your side Sing now seraph, find the calm within your soul Sing me a new song, a broken song of redemption and regret Sing me a new song, and beg for all the mercy you can get Sing me a new song, a broken song of redemption and regret Sing me a new song, and beg for all the mercy you can get (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again (Not I) I won't conform to what I see in you (Not I) I won't surrender what I am (Not I) And even if it was a part of me (Not I) I'll never be that way again - Demon Hunter, "Not I"
• Judas Priest + Megadeth + Testament Close second would be Metallica at Download on the 25th anniversary of Master of Puppets, that was an incredible set. Honorable mentions go to seeing Hatebreed and Dragonforce at the Camden Barfly (100 person capacity IIRC) and Converge at some similarly sized venue in Kingston, the name of which escapes me. Those 3 gigs were nuts lol

That's tough.... New England Metal and Hardcore with The Black Dahlia, Oceano, Contortionist, Lionheart, Acacia Strain. Shout out to the dive bar 3 blocks up from the Palladium. But then there's like... the smaller more intimate venues. Went up to Maine one time for this garage show. The PA was absolute shit. Ghetto AF. but the energy/atmosphere was dope. The people were dope. Genuinely a good time. Least Favorite: Literally anything at House of Blues, and the one time I had the misfortune of catching Chelea Grin live.

Been to over 100 shows and seen so many great bands. I really don’t know if I could pick a favorite. Each one represents a different time period in my life and comes with such awesome memories.

                      • Van Halen 1982 - Diver Down Tour (twice) and their 1984 Tour. Out of the ones I've been to, these will always be the pinnacle shows. Seeing them live in their prime was just something you can't adequately describe to anyone.

                          • Pretty tough call but I went to Groovin the Moo Canberra in 2013 and it was straight fire. Saw so many fantastic acts I’d never heard of before that point. Standouts were Alpine, Regurgitator, Seth Sentry, Midnight Juggernauts and Tame Impala. Sadly the latter two clashed but seeing half of each set was still crazy fun. Best live music experience I’ve had so far. The crowd were down to boogey and share their stuff too lmao

I finally got to see Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto no. 3 in person back in January. 10/10 best concert I’ve been to. Until I see Rebillet live.

                            • I’ve only been to two: One was at the Kettlehouse in Bonner, MT. Saw Berlin, OMD, and the B-52’s. First two acts were amazing but the B-52 crowd smoked a ton of weed, nasty. The other was in Billings MT. Saw From Ashes to New, Ledger (solo act), and Skillet. I caught the pick at the end of the concert (the one he’d been using) and couldn’t hear for a day afterwards. The tinnitus left after three days. Much more fun overall IMO.
Sorry, all out of salt.
L
