How do you know that cold and flu season doesn't occur between October and April because people congregate indoors during cold weather months?

You can get it from sneezes or coughing. It makes logical sense why you would want to wear masks or stay apart. This is why it seems to be worse in higher and more dense populations.

Honestly, how do you know SARS-CoV-2 hadn't already swept through some areas of the US back in late January through February. In my own area, there were a lot of people ill with an influenza-like illness that were testing negative for influenza. Some schools were considering temporarily closing due to low attendance. It's actually obvious that it is and that it is being exaggerated and sensationalized. The claims that this is much worse isn't consistent with the studied epidemiology, the statistical data, and first hand observation. Why should I distrust those in favor of government agencies?

Those projections came from the White House itslelf, the corona virus task force, Multiple universities, Bill gates foundation, multiple states.... all of which are independent of one another. That’s why it was credible and why we had to flatten the curb which we are now doing thanks to social distancing

The info they are spouting about SARS-CoV-2 contradicts my knowledge on respiratory viruses without explanation. It also contradicts the research articles getting into the knit and gritty of the viruses pathology, epidemiology, and genetic analysis. If you would, please cite sources of such depth supporting those models. I cannot find them. The more I look into it, the more obviously inconsistent it is.

The evidence does not support the claim. I've really looked into this. I cannot find it. I very much doubt you've been actively searching through the NLM NIH and other such databases daily for any information you can find on coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), SARS-CoV (SARS), and SARS-like coronaviruses such as MERS-CoV (MERS) trying to figure out why SARS-CoV-2 is this extremely dangerous exception. The more I learn about these viruses, the more I'm inclined to believe this is grossly exaggerated.

Hospitals wouldn’t be doing appointments that would normally be done AT the hospital over the phone & be checking every person that enters over a simple cold. Just as shark attacks increase during the summer months, May to September, cold and flu infections increase during the winter months, October to April. People tend to go out to the beaches during the summer months. People tend to congregate indoors during the winter months. It really is common sense for anyone with any sort of education on cold and flu epidemics.

We get it. You went to school and read a couple articles. But you have to see the flaw in equating the current situation to cold & flu season, wherein people [i]aren’t[/i] quarantined. You’re making the assumption that indoor spaces are just filthy with COVID, that there are already 20 sharks stuffed into everyone’s living room.

Those redearch articles I'm reading on the pathology of SARS-CoV-2 indicate it is a typical influenza-like illness. This is even more evident by the fact that symptoms range from a runny nose to pneumonia and the fact that the number of undiagnosed cases is entirely unknown. Diagnosis is heavily biased toward sever illness. Again, this is evident by the fact that China was diagnosing patients based on the presence of pneumonia. As far as I know, they were not using rapid test kits in sufficient scale, similar to our current situation.
