The better question is when are you taking a hint that the dev team isn't designing the exotics to be recolored?

This much is likely true, but it makes me wonder why many of them are ghastly
-
I agree that exotics are made to be special and identifiable. Imagine your hard work, thrown to the wayside because so and so likes this color over that!
-
Not really, because then ornaments wouldn't exist.... oh and what of the people who sit and design the legendary weapons...? Raid weapons? Exotic armour? Such a redundant argument 😉
-
Obviously there is a tier gap between legendary and exotic! They have ornaments changing the appearance, and I am sure exotics and ornaments have more time spent in development. I’m not devaluing legendaries, just stating the obvious, that exotics are exotic, and meant to stand out!

Also ignore the ornaments for suros regime and jade rabbit.
-
And yet legendaries also have ornaments, we even have armour sets now that have the seasonal track ornament.... its all effort, and all of them allow shaders..... except for exotic WEAPONS. Your point is moot the moment you say that exotics are a tier above legendaries.... so shouldn't get shaders..... does that mean that Exotic Armour should have its shader option removed? The only reason for exotic weapons to not receive shading is for Bungie to sell more ornaments. It's not a technical issue, as they already shade when previewing a shader. It ISN'T a "tier" issue, as then Armour would have been treated the same..... as would ghost shells..... sparrows..... ships....
-
Ps exotic armor always reserves some of its esthetic.
-
Again, making your point moot, as shading a gun doesn't change anything other than its colour.... therefore barely changing its aesthetic 😏
-
What’s more sought after in a looter shooter? The weapons! You may be right and it’s just to sell more ornaments. But before ornaments were a thing in D1 could you apply shaders then? Nope. Love how you only see your side and keep talking about my argument is moop.

You are just ignoring it 😉 It is moot. Your point was regarding the effort to design, and yet every other form of exotic in the game takes effort but can be customised in colour.... Borderlands 3 allows all guns to be shaded.... and that's also a loot shooter.... and after Bungie keep trying to push D2 as an MMO, don't get me started on all the other games out there 😏 You only see YOUR argument, it isn't my fault that it is so easy to refute 😉
-
Well I guess six years in and you are still waiting to shade you guns! Guess what they aren’t changing. Comparing other games to other games rules and customization, is like comparing two different artists’ work. It’s art and they set the rules, argument won!
-
Lmao, keep telling yourself that. The naivety is shocking lol. It's just another way to monetise. Why would anyone fork out £5 for a black crimson ornament if they could just shader it? It has nothing to do with art, and everything to do with profit. Oh and you introduced other games by mentioning that the guns are the most sought after part of a loot shooter.... I personally don't care 😉 I don't buy ornaments, as it's a waste, and only use whichever exotic suits my current need.... I just find your argument to be sorely lacking 😏
-
Yep so my argument about D1 and six years of you waiting has no bearing? You forgot ornaments were not always in the game? You can’t win buddy, Bungie wins, they control their art! I did not bring other games into this argument you did. I used the term to stress that they like their weapons especially exotics and want to control their looks. You can go now you lost.

That was due to Bungie being new to this type of game and not having the resources to introduce them at that point. So.....? And do you not understand the causality of conversations? You opened the door for other games when you mentioned a genre... smh. Again, I am not arguing against their control, I am arguing the reason for their decision 😅😅 And again, I haven't been "waiting" for six years, because I couldn't care less.
-
Seem to keep arguing, looks like you care! Bye.
-
Lmao, awwwww claim you won.... and then run away because you lost soooooo badly 😉 I don't care about the ornaments, I only care about the reason. I proved that already 😉 Again, you completely miss the context. Run away 😏
I agree that exotics are made to be special and identifiable. Imagine your hard work, thrown to the wayside because so and so likes this color over that!
👍🏻
-
what do you mean? if you equip an exotic primary and preview a shader the weapon has the shader applied, so the design work to have them recolored is already there.
-
I just went over to my Jade rabbit to verify and that's false.
-
go to your inventory - click on the shader page- then preview. (this shows you the shader on all of your gear) don't go to the weapon and try to apply a shader directly.
-
Go to your shader collections when having a exotic primary equipped and look at any shader.
-
Oh thats what he meant. Well! I dunno man. That's how the cookie crumbles
-
I personally don’t care. But hey, more customization
-
I'd rather them allow us to customize our guardians look. We have plenty of shaders for many other things.
-
"Rather"? I mean...IDK where that fits into this. It's hardly an "either or" situation. It's arguably easier to argue why that isn't a thing compared to shaders on exotic weapons (since armour has them already). We are ageless and biologically unchanging.
