I'm here to talk about one of the latest changes Bungie did in the competitive playlist: When you only have one life left and 2 or 3 teammates are killed almost at the same time, they all come back. This is a [b]HORRIBLE idea[/b]. It basically gives that team more lifes than the other team and is unfair. Let's talk about [b]possible solutions[/b] and later I'll expose why it is such a big problem: 1- The easiest solution is maybe to grant the other team as many extra lifes as their opponents are granted (i.e.: 1 or 2 extra lifes depending on how many more people resurrected than they should). This could though have one negative implication: Imagine there are 10 seconds on the clock, my team has zero lifes the enemy team has one. We kill two of them at the same time, then my team is granted one life and we win for life difference without going to the extra-time. this is why I don't believe this solution to be the optimal one. 2- Another solution could be to apply the following criteria to decide who should be revived: 2.1- The person that has died less times this round 2.2- If 2 people were killed the same amount of times, bring back the one who has been killed less times during the whole game duration 2.3- If 2 people were killed the same amount of times, bring back the one that has a super 2.4- If both have a super or none have, bring back one randomly. It is much better than reviving both of them or the three of them Why is that a big problem? Well, [b]I have encountered many problematic situation with that lately, more than I can remember, but I'll give only two examples[/b]: - Teammate was alone against an enemy team with one life left. Last round of the game, 3-3. The three opponents were rushing him, two of them with supers (hammers and fist of havoc if I don't remmember incorrectly). He runs into a tunnel to which they follow him, uses nova bomb and is lucky enough to kill the three of them. Instead of only one, the three revived and team-gang destroyed him - Only I and one teammate left. Opponents have one life. Teammate uses blade barrage and kills two of them, a warlock and a titan. Teammate is killed simultaneously by enemy Warcliff Coil. Only half a second later I sniped the last one in the head before he could use blade barrage at me. Instead of one, the three of them revive and two come at me with with their supers, a fist of havoc and a nova warp that I am lucky enough to flee of, only to be blade barraged in the face by the guy I just sniped half a minute earlier and was the last of the three to die so he should be dead for sure... nice.
