Something Just Dawned On Me

Let me preface what I'm about to say by first pointing out I am in no way an ageist, nor do I dislike the olds. With that said, I have to admit I was a bit surprised/disturbed to see Old Silas for the new season. Its not Old Silas himself disturbs me, its more that he is toying around w a machine that " has the power of life and death". The last time we saw OS was when he got lost in the Indefinite Garden and Ikona sent us to find him. Considering this, it's more than a little unnerving that that he is being allowed to tinker around w a machine "that has the power of life and death". What if his senility kicks in and he presses the wrong button. Suddenly, we could all wake up dead. It reminds me of when my dad realized he had to take the car keys away from my Papaw. It was a hard decision, but it had to be done everyone's safety. I realize OS is close to Ikona and that we shouldn't just make old people obsolete bc they become a little slow in the head, but we have to be realistic. There are lots of things Old Silas can do that wouldn't put everyone in danger. For instance, he could become the official tower greeter and greet guardians when they spawn into the tower. He could also maybe help the Eververse lady find her uncle that she is always talking about. That guy has been missing for a while. It's possible that in his more lucid moments, Old Silas might be able to find him. It seems like it would be a better idea to give that spinning hourglass thing to Asser to take care of. As much as I think Asser is a grade A dbag, it would seem better to keep that thing on Io where he can study it. This is especially true since it's unlikely Old Silas, due to his dementia, could even begin to explain how that thing works. Sometimes it's hard to get old people to give up their belongings, but we could get that Brother Vance guy to help distract him.

  • I remembering reading that Osiris was basically a time lord who was basically biggest brain and could use the vex against themselves... then curse released and I kinda saw him as an idiot that understands how to do something but does it in a way that can be easily jeopardize. Then this season comes out and it’s like I kinda wanna put Osiris on the chopping block for being a moron. LETS ALSO NOT FORGET HOW OFTEN THIS DUMBASS RESURRECTS THE STUPID CYCLOPS FROM THAT AWFUL STRIKE

      • Uhuumm, yup, Old Silas definitely lost it. He made a pact with Driven to go back in time to find Paint-14... He really liked it for some reason... Even Ikona does... or maybe she is being kind to her elder🤔
