Warlocks, I need your attention!!

Since the dawn of destiny 2 , Warlocks have been seperated but now is the time we need to unite seeing as our solar class is getting "rework for the better". We need to come togther to channel our voices and let bungie understand we should be heard. We need buffs but we need to start small. I say we should first all ask them to fix our melee being the slowest. Then once we see if the "rework" for Dawnbreaker is horrible. We can judge if we should go for a solar buff or void buff. Thanks for reading

  • Warlocks in Raid=Well+Dvinity and well gives even less damage buff campared to Titian bubble. Warlock in PvP=Free kills to invisible Hunters with mindbender or a Titan with a hand in his back while the other giving the punch. The animation before warlock's super is long enough for anyone with a bow to launch a headshot and a body shot to. Titian has shield. Hunter has stick. Warlock's supers has no defending or reflecting ability and moves like a dying snail in winter. Never see many Raidiance Wells in crucible. I WONDER WHY. After rework, hand supernova is way too slow even if you catch a Hunter sliding towards you face/back/any body parts. Trust me. It's really hard to miss. Rift. If you can dodge to recover health, why stand still waiting for death? Flying ability. "TURN BACK! 04、03、02、01" We warlocks really hit the top ceiling right? PvP exotics. *loud laughs in season of Worthy* Warlock is a fun class if you are having a bug that doesn't allow you to create a Hunter or Titan character. I wasn't even surprised when I knew they exiled Osiris. He's a dawnblade main. You can't really even raid with him.

    • I know it may be too soon, but I REALLY think the Dawnblade buffs are going to be very underwhelming. I could be wrong, but just by reading the notes, I'm not too excited.

      • The rework is going to be bad. You don’t have to wait and see to know that: 1: there is no cover when you are floating in the air 2: you shouldn’t have to consume your grenade to remove a handicap that the subclass tree shouldn’t have in the first place (that the game shouldn’t impose in the first place) 3: bottom tree shouldn’t be tweaked to remove anything because it’s not unbalanced vs other classes supers - https://guardian.gg/2/class-stats?platform=pc&mode=5&start=2019-10-01&end=2019-11-29 - https://guardian.gg/2/class-stats?platform=console&mode=5&start=2019-10-01&end=2019-11-29 - the only reason they are removing the burst is to make top tree more appealing, that is not the way to do it. The bottom tree still has tracking which is going to be better for PvP and warlocks need all the love they can get for PvP right now As a hunter main I would much rather go up against a team of warlocks in comp than a team of titans or hunters because they are usually slow floaty targets that are easiest to kill out of their supers. Basically they are the least threat to go up against and the “rework” isn’t a fix for that, it’s just a nerf in disguise

        • We've been asking for our melee to be fixed for ages but Bungie and every other hunter/titan main out there ignore it or say there's no such issue cause being titan and Hunter mains, they'd surely know better. Just like they know that strikers were balanced before and OEM is balanced now. Also Warlocks are the only class with a subclass that cannot 1 shot supers from half health. Playing my dad's stormcaller this week in Iron Banner I've gotten many supers to half health with a primary and either not gotten a melee off because it's too slow or of I do, it leaves them on little health but they live and I die.

        • Every class still needs Quality of Life changes/reworks, but gonna focus on Warlocks since it's the topic. This is just my opinion on what should be changed. [b]General:[/b] 1.) Fix the base melee speed; there's literally no reason for this to be unaddressed for so long. It's still slow enough where you can engage in a melee fight and strike first, and still lose because the enemy can get two shots in before you wind up your second. And for the people who still think this, no, Warlocks [i]do not have increased melee range for their [b]base[/b] melee[/i]. They normalized that early into D2's life. At best they have extended range for their melee charges (which really isn't an increase to the base itself) or if you use Ophidian Aspect (which takes up an exotic slot). 2.) Speed up Rift animation, and possibly heal rate on the healing rift. It's way too easy to kill a Warlock using it even if they use it before they engage, and they're usually forced to commit to staying in that spot once popping, it unlike Hunters and Titans who can use their abilities for disengaging a fight, re-engagement, or for an immediate foothold. [b]Stormcaller:[/b] [u]Top Tree[/u]: Mostly fine. Maybe adjust hitreg issues with chain lightning. [u]Middle Tree[/u]: Change the POV when using Chaos Reach. Current POV is counterproductive for a hitscan beam. [u]Bottom Tree[/u]: Increase neutral game potential as well as Landfall's damage. It focuses too much on Rift which is already underwhelming as is. [b]Voidwalker:[/b] [u]Top Tree[/u]: Adjust Slova Bomb tracking to prioritize the enemy within your crosshair. Right now it often pulls an aim assist where it chases the trash ads that run by your intended target. Could argue for even more aggressive tracking. [u]Middle Tree[/u]: Just, overhaul the whole thing. Its entire neutral game revolves around HHSN because its melee has low kill potential, and by extension making Dark Matter heavily reliant on the grenade for speedy ability regen. HHSN in general could use a PvP rework only (got that? [b]PvP only[/b]). The Super itself is very lackluster for being the only Super to require charging [i]each and every one[/i] of your attacks for decent damage and has some of the weakest armor for roaming Supers (barring GG of course), making it pretty easy to shutdown. A reduction to charge time, increase to damage, and/or making Oppressive Darkness instristic to this would make it much better both in PvP and PvE. [u]Bottom Tree[/u]: Pretty good where it is. Maybe make Vortex more interesting, such as giving it Lance or allowing it to drag enemies towards it. Nothing too necessary though. [b]Dawnblade:[/b] [u]Top Tree[/u]: Not a fan of the upcoming changes, and if anything, it sounds worse that what it currently is. I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and get a better opinion when the changes go live, but that's my thoughts on it so far. Imo, all it actually needs is increasing the accuracy on weapons while gliding, while the Super should have Bottom Tree's tracking ability since it lacks any enhancement. [u]Middle Tree[/u]: Fine as is (imo). [u]Bottom Tree[/u]: This is the one that needs the solar overhaul more than anything. It's got a horrible neutral game that relies solely on Phoenix Dive, and PD is a joke. Imo, change Igniting Tough to that proposed melee for top tree (could probably still allow it to burn people). Not sure what neutral game it could use, but it desperately needs one. For Phoenix Dive, either buff it or remove it. If you plan to buff it, increase the health regen, speed up its animation, and decrease it's cooldown (or at least give it a damn timer). In Daybreak, increase both the damage and AoE because it's currently a discount Landfall. Fated For the Flame (tracking) is moved to top tree because bottom tree doesn't need both super extension and tracking; you could instead argue giving bottom tree the ability to have a melee swipe option since its long range effectiveness is pretty much neutered, but merge it into Everlasting flame if so.

          • Warlock melees are slower by what, a few frames? Honestly. How often is this going to make a difference. If you're getting Into a game of paddy cake and trying to double melee an undamaged opponent with an uncharged palm you've already messed up somewhere and you're being punished for it. By all means though, they should fix it just so I dont have to hear about it anymore. It won't have any real impact on how well warlocks perform in melee. The bigger difference between class melees is the lunge return. When titans and hunters throw a punch they basically teleport a short distance to the target and end up right in their face. (Slightly closer for titans) Warlocks teleport to the target and then back nearly to where they started from, leaving them nearly twice as far away from the target as titans and hunters. This has benefits and disadvantages. People just need to play warlock melees to their strengths. My rule of thumb. Titans punch and press forward. Hunters knife and dodge/strafe. Warlocks palm and backpedal. I cant tell you how many times backing off after the first punch can put you outside melee range. Watch your opponent swing at the air then finish them with a weapon or come back in for the second slap if you need to. But that's me I guess. I'm sure others will disagree. I hope they get their way, but I dont think it will make them happy.

                        What we need it Revert back to D1 class system. Or even better separately pve and pvp nerf/buff

                            Stormcaller is in a fantastic place right now, all I want is for our melee to be as fast as the other classes. I’d like a reason to hold onto some of these high strength pieces of armor that constantly torment me

                            • Chaos Reach needs some sort of shielding or something as you cast. It seems so weak and can get shutdown immediately. And the bright screen hinders your visibility of where you aim. I mean, try to shoot a Warlock as he casts Nova Bomb. He’s invincible.

                            • when you need to nerf a super in a subclass played for it's super to make the newly buffed tree look good I believe that is starting plenty small enough. The buffs to top tree is to make the youtube players happy. Will get them each tons of views for builds videos at the start of the season.
