I mean, think about it. Jötunn has recently been used to maximise its DPS by shooting it close to the enemy and it damaging to do up to around 5x damage.
Due to this bug the weapon has been disabled for the raid which states that at least one of the boss encounters in the new Vex raid will involve a stationary boss and considering the fact that they are disabling jotunn it seems probable that there is more than one.
Remember when we were all complaining about lunafaction boots and well of radiance? It wasnt because it was overpowered but it was because the bosses in all previous raids have been fat static targets for everyone. All they needed to do was add movement into the boss fights and it would have been sorted.
Bungie if you ever do decide to make a new raid, please make the boss a moving one.
Edit* holy molly I didnt expect this to trend

Hehe, they wont balance the gun but they'll disable it.. interesting
-
Or or or. Hear me out
its glitched and unfair 😳
You know what would be fascinating? a Raid boss that is just a person. Someone small and nimble but OBSCENELY powerful. A regular sized, gone-rogue, Guardian. or the majority of the raid is pursuing somebody who is in ahead of you, and the goal is to prevent them from obtaining a relic.
-
I don't get why they would ban just this 1 gun. Is it really that powerful? I can think of a dozen other guns just as powerful or more powerful. This is just really weird.
-
I never got jotunn. When it becomes meta and basically a requirement for the raid, it becomes hard to find a team. That’s not fair to players like me going for worlds first and being at such a disadvantage.
-
Destiny bosses have never been that great to begin with, but they are definitely worse in D2. They are just so dull. Anthem has better boss fights.
-
They don't know anything else.
-
i also find it laughable as its pretty much only a PC issue as its tied to framerate. Console we only get a 10% buff. That said, fyi, if you're going for Blacksmith title, best to do Master Blaster asap before they disable it.
-
eh, almost every raid ever has a boss that allows you to get lose to, it would be a weird design if an entire raid never let you get close to any bosses. Removing jotunn just means they're making world's first a more fair realistic fight.
-
When you realize that atheon is a static boss, death singer is static, templar is static, golgoroth is static, and oryx is static. You guys say d1 is so much better than d2 but most of that is coming from nostalgia.

What the hell did you expect? Actually listening to feedback? You think these hacks actually care? They don’t. Hell, they’re openly admitting to scamming you by re-selling you the same planet, same black garden, same raid armor, same enemies, same weapons, etc. They will never act on feedback because their lazy bare-minimum philosophy means they take the easy way out every time, thus nerfing auto-reload and crippling the game for their convenience while they continue to charge us for money after they charge us for money.
-
PC just ruins console games, and this is once again proof of it. Honestly though, I don't care about Jötunn, or World's First, or Day One, or any of that USELESS, MEANINGLESS STREAMER EVENT, and neither should you. The money spent on those belts would EASILY cover the cost for dedicated servers, but we see where the priorities are, right. The regular clear emblem looks far better than the Day One emblem anyway. I hate this dev team, man. Sandbox lead shows up in effin PJs and slippers to a public stream. Go away.

They can’t create so they destroy. But, pay up BICHES!
-
lol its kind of incredible that bungie hasn’t done any moving bosses. Lol
-
Say it with me! Its. A. BUG.
-
Well Sleeper’s ricochet shot damage got nerfed before the Crown of Sorrows raid and people assumed that meant the boss arena would make Sleeper OP, but that wasn’t the case at all.
-
The Templar and Argos say it's going to be a Hydra boss.

Edited by TechnoKat: 9/23/2019 1:12:05 AMSee, it's important to remember: BUNGiE has never actually designed a Raid boss. They've honestly never even designed a Raid to begin with. These glorified Dungeons are as simplistic and basic as it gets and expecting a company that have decided that it was too hard to maintain their own update schedule and then decided it's too hard to maintain the drip-feed that replaced their update schedule is like expecting a middle-schooler to create an in-depth character analysis of Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter Series. You may get a few nuggets that are on point, but you're just asking too much from the wrong people.

*I want to easily beat the raid without a challenge*... Fixed your post for you

not saying you're wrong, but jotuun could also be used against yellow health enemies tied to raid mechanics so
-
PC only. Tied to frame rate.
-
It probably has less to do with the boss fight and more to do with the fact that their advertisers (the streamers that will be doing the race) all asked for it. IIRC 1K Voices is also tied to framerate so I wonder if they are going to disable that as well????
-
Idk it really seems like you're grasping at straws here. With the right framerates a player could do more damage with jotunn than any other gun in destiny's history. Even if the boss was moving I guarantee people would have found a way to cheese it with jotunn and spoiled the worlds first race.

Its time the community has an overall outrage at these static 'raid bosses' . These aren't raid bosses, they are turrets disguised as raid bosses for another puzzle mechanic. We haven't fought a raid boss in Destiny history yet.
