Murmer didnt evolve, you just got it and that was it, its yours.
thorn, rose, and lumina, on the other hand, was an evolution (well, DE-volution first, THEN a different evolution).
and i think that the new trace rifle coming in shadowkeep will be an 'evolving' weapon too.

it seems that the confusion was on his part. trust me, necrochasm is my favorite gun, i know how it works and all of that.
