If you suspect cheating or have evidence of such, you can use Bungie’s report tool (Linked here) to report the team in question. Please do not post videos/screenshots/names of what you suspect here on the forum. Naming and shaming is against the code of conduct and can get you in trouble.
PGCR counts as potential evidence.

Did you not see the "no name shame" in the subject line? Stop trying to act like you're a forum ninja and read the damn post.

Edited by Decca0805: 9/16/2019 7:21:12 AMI did see it. I sent a standardised response. Sorry if being treated equally to everyone else hurt you that much. So much for ‘respectfully’
-
With respect - the point of the article is not the fact that they DDOS. I know I cant avoid that and reporting it is a fish in the bucket. The point is the way in which they did it. A report does not solve that. I guess I am just astounded on how nonchalantly and okay it is to showcase a denial of service. "Oh, it happens." Reports do not fix that. Reporting one man doesn't change a culture. It needs to be talked about.

Edited by Decca0805: 9/16/2019 7:37:19 AMIf you wish to believe that reports have no effect, feel free not to use the tool. I got one know first hand that the tool does work, as players I myself have reported I have later seen here on the forum complaining that they ‘got banned for no reason’. The system works, but only if you let it. We can never completely stop cheating, but we can remove those guilty of it.

Or we could get dedicated servers and avoid the problem entirely, but that would be logical. :P
If you wish to believe that reports have no effect, feel free not to use the tool. Yes, it simply makes too much sense for Bungie to do that. RIP to our gameplay experience, in the name of profit!

So the problem with internally handled non-public report systems is exactly this - and this is coming from someone who has a job as a programmer in an extremely large company that is worldwide and handles business pretty similarly. Only giving this to show how the system ripples - Someone gets reported and an internal board reviews it. No one outside the board sees this and only the person being reported is notified of the outcome. He is gone. Now factor in every person there and the overall consensus of something such as Denials, Threats, Lawsuits, etc. Sure the two parties involved are knowledgeable on both sides, but everyone else is to carry on as usual. This would be the general player base. Once again, the post is not talking about the reporting system at all - I could care less about that. Its the cultural around this issue and why it is a dis-justice to the game and time to not bring this to the public. If I report the guy and he gets banned, great. But how does that affect the view and outlook - it doesn't. The reason is this - it is past the point where you can keep it isolated and make an example thus why it needs to be addressed. This is why companies have quarterly earnings, monthly team meetings, etc. Its to keep things in check.
-
If it were public, there would be serious issues of harassment and personal attacks against those who are guilty - and those who are accused. I understand your point; we ought to know that something is being done and that things need to change - but that doesn’t justify subjecting people to abuse.
-
They deserve what they get dawg, was a time when you just didnt do shit cause it would come back on you, what a sissy ass world we live in now.

Edited by Decca0805: 9/16/2019 6:41:55 PMWhat; one where someone accused of cheating isn’t allowed to be harassed and attacked?
-
Accused is one thing, caught red handed and gloating about it is a whole other ball game is it not?
-
Yes, but that still names them accused, does it not? And that simply doesn’t justify violating their right to privacy, or to violate their lawful right to not be harassed. Even if they are scum.
-
I say it does justify it, it would be a grand deterrent to all this mess, you must be a dosser yourself you seem to defend it pretty hard, you worried you might get found out?
-
Ah, as usual. “I don’t have a valid, intelligent response or suggestion to offer that I can actually back up, so I’ll just try and make you look like the villain.” I honestly expected better. I do not condone cheating or any kind. Cheating - in a video game of all things (incredibly pathetic tbh) - does not justify violation of a person’s lawful rights. Yes, in a Denial Of Service attack situation, they are criminally liable in some countries and states, but even then they still have rights. Those rights are fair and just. Even if they’re scum, they’re petty. They don’t need to have their privacy violated, their normal lives disrupted, or their image defaced as a result, and they don’t deserve it either. Period. They deserve access to the service (game) revoked, and potentially legal action. That is all.
-
Thats why we disagree I say they do deserve it, they are ruining this experience for other people, if they want to go into private matches and doss their friends thats one thing ruining the experience for others is another. How would you like it if I jammed your cell phone signal and you couldnt use it and you pay for that sevice? Not only do people pay for the game they have to pay for internet to use it, you dont seem to get my logic at all, this is internet harassment and people who do that deserve what they get. And as far as the dressing down your trying to give me save yourself the trouble your a bungie mod having a pissing contest with a member of the community what are you 17? Honestly I expected better. Get a life bro.
-
Nowhere have I stated that I’m a Bungie mod, nor claimed it, nor implied it, nor mentioned it. That’s because... I’m not! Yes, if you were to block my cell signal, it would be a nuisance. Should I disrupt and harass you for it, or get others to do so? No. Then, how am I any better than you are? We’re not a primitive society. We don’t need public enforcement. Unless you have something that is informed, in any way intuitive, or somehow meaningful, to say; please leave me alone. I’m not interested in going back and forth with a naïve and simple-minded individual such as yourself any longer on the topic.
-
Hey fyi roob me blocking your cell phone signal wouldnt be a nuissance it would be potentially life threatening, what if you couldnt call 911? People use their internet to face time with family all the time, when you doss someone you crash their internet, and im sure you would know since you champion it so hard, ya think thats fair? To take away someones internet? Go smoke corn silk roob.
-
Then quit responding you twit what are you slow witted or something hahahahahaha
-
I rest my case.
-
Enjoy your dossing.
-
“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser” I’ll just leave this here. Goodbye.
-
Doss on twit, you honestly think I have any interest in entering into a debate about dossing with you? Hahahaha you really are a twit! hahahahahahaha
-
Roob says what!
-
hahahahahahaa what a roob
