I was playing comp yesterday and 2 teammates left so it was me and this other guy getting destroyed untill the timer had 30 seconds left. then left the game as I didn't want to lose glory, and get a message saying I'd been suspended from playing comp for a while. I think that you shouldnt lose glory if you have teammates that left. If this is already a thing... Please excuse my ignorance
-
I hear ya but I don't know how this could be programmed. Too many variables. For example, what if you win short-handed? Do you get to keep your Glory if you win short-handed but not lose Glory if you lose? Or let's say two people leave early but two replacements come in and you win or lose, how does the game decide what to do with Glory? Sometimes you get screwed and all you can do is move on.
-
Yes, even if one person leaves it sucks
-
They really need to implement the system that Overwatch has. If anyone leaves withing (X) amount of time. The match is cancelled, no one loses glory except for the guy who left and they lose a shit ton of glory and are banned from competitive for a day.
-
Its complete bullshit that there are no actual penalties for leaving / nets for people who stay in the game. Im not asking for special treatment, but if my teamate leaves before the first 30 seconds, the match should be canceled. There is no reason why I should be punished because someone decided to que and leave.

Edited by BC1 Edge: 9/14/2019 8:33:31 AMI like the suggestions below that people who quit should lose triple points etc (go further and increase the points loss for every time they do it!) of course there needs to be a way to distinguish between connection loss (or someone pulling out their connection) and quitting
-
Can’t happen as people would leave if they were getting beat.

Edited by TrooperHR: 9/16/2019 1:09:02 AMYou shouldn't get a lousy game if your mom pays 120EUR for it either. Here we are though.
-
But hey, soon there will be ranking "floors" so you won't lose 6 ranks when hackers boot you to orbit again and again!
-
Played today. Lost one teammate and we lost. Next match lost two teammates and we lose. Third match I said F this game.

Edited by blade329: 9/15/2019 3:32:48 PMSame here, man. I was in the Eternity map the other day, and two players bailed out. It was the worst of all worlds. Firstly, it's Coundown, which I hate. The game forces 6 rounds on you, even though it's 2-4. Then I lose glory on top of it. At one point I gave up and just committed suicide just to end this torture. This Comp mode is terrible. I'm thinking of bailing on PvP until Shadowkeep comes out.
-
Just wait for shadow keep launch. There will be a new system where you don't loose any points until you are fabled
-
This happened to me yesterday and we literally won the first round. Spawn in for round 2 and 2 teammates are gone. We end up losing even though we made it a game and stole another round from them 4v2. I was furious for losing glory from that. Especially since I hardly play comp and that crap makes me not want to play it.

Edited by Motorhead England: 9/15/2019 12:45:56 PMI think everyone has experienced this. I cannot see the point of leaving a match just because you know you're going to lose. After all, you lose glory pts anyway, but I know how demoralising it is when you're being hammered by a team of sweaty cheats and it's so easy to say f**k it. I think that glory points should be awarded for your kills, captures , charge settings and charges defused, depending on the game mode. Then at least if you don't win the match, it gives players an incentive to stay in to bump up their glory points. And let's see some capital punishments for the obvious cheats. Maybe award double glory points if your team wins the match.
-
If so, that should only aply, when those people are not in your own fireteam. But even that would probaply be abused. See your point though. I guess there is no easy answer to this real problem.
-
So people can DDOS us into oblivion? Lmao
-
This company only cars about Tess. This won’t change
-
I personally think if you hit first place and maintain a positive KD for the match you should gain or lose glory on a loss.
-
Edited by AUTOMATIK 2006: 9/15/2019 12:58:22 AMI don't think it's fair either,... but I think if they did what you asked, people would exploit it by telling someone to leave(smurf account) just so that the rest of the team won't lose glory if they were gonna lose that match. Next thing you know everyone hitting 5500 in no time because of this exploit. P.S. when you leave a game, you do lose glory.
-
Leaving a comp match should have triple glory loss points. Problem solved. Take the potential loss or leave and lose 3x the glory.
-
Agreed OP.

Edited by Psyche Out 817: 9/15/2019 12:31:20 AMI’ve spent the past few weeks wrapping up my pinnacle weapon quests for The Crucible since I have pretty much everything I want from the PvE side. I managed to get The Revoker & Luna’s Howl. I figured I might as well go for the Not Forgotten, since there isn’t much else to do at the moment. Luna kills were easy enough, but the grind for Fabled is appalling to say the least. What a shitty little group of players in Comp. They gravitate to whatever new Meta is available. Erentil & One-eyed Mask. Endless supers that take no damage. Grenades that go on forever. As a Hunter I find the Crucible once again stacked for Titans & Warlocks. Constant hacking, shitty matchmaking, poor map & game type rotation. I hope you rebuild the entire Crucible from the ground up because it needs it. I pay a lot for good internet, but in Destiny that has always benefited the people with cheap internet. Every. Single. Time. Shame on you Bungie. I get a good win streak going & then get knocked back like 2 ranks. It’s pathetic. I’m sure the Not Forgotten isn’t even worth the trouble at this point considering the colossal disappointment that Luna’s turned into. -blam!- the Crucible. Oh yeah, and can’t forget about finally getting on a 5 streak and getting matched up 2 v 4 the next match for Control. That’s totally fair, Bungie & not at all designed to keep people playing. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕

This^

I've said this time and time again, remove the loss penalty. It wouldn't take much effort and then the comp community would come alive again.
-
I think all the hacking needs to be addressed in comp.
-
You can't lose Glory if you don't play Crucible to begin with.
-
Get a fireteam, one account takes it seriously, two are throwaways/smurfs. Start losing? Don't worry, just get those two to go to orbit, no loss penality anymore. See the issue?
