This isn't call of duty, kid. Snipers in Destiny are meant for SNIPING. Not MLG quick scopes, and only idiots would use that sniper.

You clearly don't play crucilbe that much.
-
I've reset my valor rank 3 times this season alone, and played at least 100 matches of Comp grinding for Revoker. I play Crucible a LOT.
-
Btw, rewarding someone with being good at how they play isn't a bad thing, in my opinion. Especially if the way they play is hard to master.

Edited by Orange: 7/31/2019 1:47:36 AMDestiny isn't battlefield, kid. The snipes and maps aren't used for hardscoping at the back. You should try sniping more often. Quick scopes with a sniper is a fun way to play.

Edited by SpartanLegend_27: 7/31/2019 5:37:57 AMQuick scoping is NOT sniping. You've been diluded from other FPS games. REAL sniping is setting down in an area, and sniping people's heads off. And there are plenty of sightlines and spots to do this in Destiny. You wanna quick scope, good for you, go ahead, but it's stupid to say that quick scoping is the proper way to use a sniper. If I wanna do quick scopes, I'll just boot up Black Ops 3 or Ghosts. Real skill is the patience to hit a headshot from a distance, not running up on someone and deleting them.
-
Btw.... you'll be dead if you hardscope an angle on a destiny map for too long. There's a little advice for you.
-
You've completely misunderstood what I said. No, I don't think quick scoping is the 'only' way to snipe. Yes, I do think it's a viable way to snipe. And running at someone to headshot them isn't what I mean. Sliding past an angle to quickscope someone is what I mean. I suggest this type of sniper more so for the fun. I'd love to go in to quickplay or custom matches to try out something that could potentially kill you if not used properly. Could also be viable in comp depending on how good it is. Dude.... don't shut down an idea just because it doesn't suit your playstyle.
-
It's not that viable. People are usually either hanging back and hard scoping with a sniper rifle, or running around with a shotgun. Trying to quick scope would just result in you getting outsniped from a distance, or deleted by a shotgunner, and frankly, I don't see that changing any time soon. There are games that are good for quick scoping, but D2 is not that kind of game.
-
Edited by Orange: 8/1/2019 1:40:16 AMI think I know why it took you so long to get the revoker. You were hardscoping at the back, waiting for the enemy to complete the objectives, weren't you?
-
Trying to snipe aggressively just gets you killed past Brave 1. Trust me, I tried. Shotgun >>>>>> Sniper in close quarters... Or mid quarters for some godforsaken reason.
-
Dude. Do you want help getting to 2100? I'll rock a snipe all the way through.
-
Oh, please tell me more! I'd love to get more tips from someone who is too scared to carry a sniper in comp.
-
No, thanks. I no longer have the desire to get anywhere near 2100, regardless of how good Mountaintop or Recluse are. And I don't like playing with people, I prefer to fly solo. And, it isn't that I'm scared to carry a sniper into comp, it's just that shotguns are objectively better, meta-wise. I could get to Fabled if I wanted to, but I just don't anymore. Unless they start giving exotics for pinnacle weapons or something.
-
It really is dependant on the map and how much you keep an eye on the radar. Sniping in most certainly part of the current meta, and if you got to a higher glory rank, you would see people with snipers more often. The fact that sniping and playing aggressively with snipes isn't a more popular playstyle is because it's much harder to learn. This doesn't mean it's not a viable option. Running your own playstyle is fine, but your opinion on quickscoping is more on the line of giving up before you even try.
-
I did try, I just realized the method wasn't working. And that the reward was not worth the headache.
-
Hitting those shots with a quickscope is incredibly rewarding, but if it's not for you, it's not for you. People have their own playstyles. But again.... an exotic sniper that rewards people for quickscoping and punishes people for hardscoping would be incredibly fun. Just look at touch of malice in D1. It didn't reward people for holding down the trigger. It was viable in pve. And it was fun to use in pvp. I understand you're probably not the type of person to play aggressively, but that doesn't mean there aren't other play styles around. I've probably played a hell of a lot more crucible than you and I know for a fact that playing aggressive with a sniper is a viable option in comp and all-around pvp in destiny.
-
ToM was viable in a rare few situations in PvE. And really wasn't viable at all in PvP (though I will admit I had some fun). And I don't know how much crucible you've played, but it's likely not 'a hell of a lot more than I have.'

Dude. You just have to look at the movie of the week on this weeks TWAB to see what I'm talking about. (I suppose I won't mention the hundreds of videos from other youtubers or montages, though. That seems a bit obvious.)
