Did you read the twab? Or did you go straight to idiot mode. All NEW items will be available for silver AND bright dust. The engrams will reward year one items. The new Opulence items are available for direct purchase for silver or bright dust on a rotating by week basis. Cosmo and dmg clarified on the subReddit. They also mentioned that next weeks TWAB would include a list of buffs for Opulence. This really was a good twab.

So regardless of what any community manager says, better to wait and see if they actually do what they say they will. 2: I’m sure buffs are coming. The question is, what kind of impact with their buffs actually have. Based on what we heard them say last week about what they want, nobody with any logical reasoning can honestly believe buffs will be truly impactful. Bungie doesn’t want exotics that are extremely useful. They don’t because they have this imaginary need to (1) make sure PVE is “balanced” (which is just stupid because balance really only exists in a competitive environment vs the cooperative that exists in raids, strikes, and nightfalls) and (2) that PVP caters to the few ultra super sweats that happen to have a YouTube or twitch following. I truly HOPE I’m wrong and that next week’s buff TWAB is epic. But I’d put more money that the Giants win the Super Bowl next year than Bungie delivers a collection of buffs that makes up for the sheer stupidity of last week. But I guess we’ll see.
