LfD - The Savathûn’s Strings Theory

Preface A long time ago, on an alien world, Fundament, lived many races. One such was the Osmium Court, ruled by the Same again but replace “court” with “king”, who fell into senility at the age of 10, and was killed by his sterile wife, Taox. The Osmium King had many sons and daughters, who were carried away by clouds, fell into the gas seas, or were eaten as payment.
Verse 1:1 - Predators “The Helium Drinker ambassador ate ten of my sisters as tribute. This is normal. However, I resent it.” - Xi Ro, one of the three surviving daughters of the Osmium King
The Three Daughters of the Late Osmium King were Xi Ro, Sathona, and Aurash, one brave and strong, one cunning and sharp, one leader like and curious. These daughters grew up to be our familiar antagonists Xivu Arath, Savathûn, and Auryx/Oryx respectively (yes Oryx was a girl) with the power of the Darkness and their ambassadors Xol, Yul, Eir, Ur, and Akka, the Worm Gods.
Verse 1:9 - The Bargain “You are Aurash. Heir to the Osmium Throne. You stand on the naked hull of an ancient ship. You stand exposed to the crushing pressure and ferocious heat of the deeper Fundament. It should annihilate you. It is by my will alone that you survive. I am Yul, the Honest Worm. Behold my passage. Behold my vast displacement, my ponderous strength, my great and coiling length, my folded jaws and curled wings. Behold the hiving cities symbiotic with my flesh. I am fecund, Aurash. I am at the beginning and end of lives. Behold Eir, and Xol, and Ur, and Akka. The Virtuous Worms. Look upon us, and know that We are go[o]d. For millions of years We have been [trapped|growing] in the Deep. From across the stars We have called life to Fundament, so that it might contend against extinction. For millennia We have awaited you... our beloved hosts. Against you stand the cruel Leviathan and all the forces of the Sky. They would crush you down into the dark. They have arranged their moons to drown you, in fear of your potential. We want to help you, Princes. We offer to each of you a bargain... a symbiosis. Take into your bodies our children, our newborn larvae. From them you shall obtain eternal life. From them you shall gain power over your own fragile flesh: the power to make of it as you will. And should you find an imperfection in the world, an injustice or an inconvenience — you will have the power to repair it. Let no mere law bind you. We ask one thing in exchange, oh Princes. You must obey your nature forever. In your immortality, Aurash, you may never cease to explore and inquire, for the sake of your children. In your immortality, Xi Ro, you may never cease to test your strength. In your immortality, Sathona, you may never abandon cunning. If you do, your worm will consume you. And as your power grows, oh Princes, so will your worm’s appetite. But we offer eternity, Aurash. We offer you a chance at the universe. Would you deny your people infinity? Reach up to me. Let my flesh be your sacrament.”
For now, we focus on Savathûn. The Vex, Quria, and Crota The Worms granted the Sisters immortality and the means for reality bending strength, and they took it. This, in time and blood, opened the Ascendant Realm, The Sea Of Screams, and allowed them to build their own worlds within the vast ocean of madness, upon the souls of the many victims of their genocides. Oryx eventually bore children with (we don’t know i think), Crota, Nokris, Deathsinger Ir Anûk, and Deathsinger Ir Halak. Crota in particular was a susceptible one, and gave in to Auntie Savathûns suggestion, which was
Verse 4:8 - The Partition Of Death “Oryx went to his son, Crota. “Go keep an eye on your sisters,” he said. “'You can learn cunning from them.” But while Oryx traveled to observe the Deep destroy an ancient fortress world, Crota conspired with his sisters to learn their secrets. “I too will experiment with a wound,” he said. With his sword Crota cut open a new wound, into a new space. In here he thought he might obtain a secret power. Out of this wound came machines called Vex. They invaded Oryx’s throne world.” Verse 4:9 - Open Your Eye: Go Into It “Savathûn was laughing, because she had tricked Crota into cutting that place.”
to open a doorway into the Vex world. Savathûn already knew about the Vex and their nature, and manipulated it perfectly. The Vex then created a mind, Quria, Blade Transform, named so because she learned of the Sword Logic governing Oryx’s Reality and changed accordingly. Oryx Took Quria and gifted it to Savathûn, which was a bad mistake. Savathûn used Quria to simulate Aurash, using this simulation she gained the knowledge of the Tablets of Ruin which held the knowledge of how to Take in the first place. The Vex then took the information from this encounter, spread it with the rest of the Vex Overmind, and basically said “Right, so if we want the Light AND Darkness gone, it’ll be easier to do away with the Light first, so worship the Darkness for now” and so they did, and thus they created our first point, The Black Garden. Oryx, fuming, booted Crota through reality to fend for himself
Verse 4:10 - An Emperor For All Outcomes ““My son,” he said, “this is your punishment. Come home glorious, or die forgotten!” He picked up Crota by the legs and threw him into the Vex gate network.”
This separated Crota and Oryx, allowed Crota to take Luna, become strong, slay thousands of Guardians in the Great Disaster, and face off against two fireteams, Eris Morns, and ours, creating the second point, The Dark Below and Crota’s End. Skolas, Mara Sov, and the Nine After the Reef Wars, Skolas, The Rabid, was captured by Queen Mara Sov and then gifted to the Nine, as a peace offering for Uldren’s Crows stepping on their turf
From Grimoire Ghost Fragment: The Queen “"More of your brother's Crows have entered the Cauldrons of Rhea." The Witch directly before her spoke with a dry buzz. "The Nine do not approve." She stopped a moment to study the sealed face of a cell. The cloud of her breath mingled with the slow exhalation of cryonics. "Send them one of our prizes. Something to commemorate our mutual victory." "And which of your prisoners would you gift?" If she paused to think it was only for an instant. "Send them Skolas." "A lovely gesture." "Mm." She cocked her head as if listening for a frozen heartbeat. "And remind them this: the Crows are mine."”
But immediately after this, The Nine sent Xûr (exotic cheapskate) to free Skolas, and gift him a Ketch. The theory is that the Nine did this because they knew Oryx was coming to the system (remember Crota, bucketed... daddy’s angry) and they wanted a backup in case all [θ] units (Guardians) failed. The Queen was livid, naturally, because Skolas also massacred her people, again... This forced her hand and brought us into it again, creating the third point indirectly caused by Savathûn: House of Wolves Oryx, the Taken King is pissed, his son is dead, the light still exists, and he had to excommunicate another son of his. If you were a millenium old Eldritch Bug-God-King that could tear his way through universes, what would you do? Why, attack Phobos (the Skyburners base (they become important later)) and drive your dimension car made of bones into the rings of Saturn of course! The Awoken mount an assault on the Dreadnaught and get absolutely domed by an eye socket in the side of it, except they don’t. (VERY IMPORTANT, REMEMBER THIS) The Skyburners are pissed because they didn’t have their morning coffee before Mr Black Splatter over here crunched their glorified asteroid, so they do what any sane and self respecting individual does and waits for us to crippld the ship, then drive directly into it, they then screw up and die, and send a signal back to the Cabal Empire. Oryx gets domed by us and now the Osmium Throne is empty, waiting for someone to come and take it... Fourth point made: The Taken King Lord Saladin, The Cosmodrome, and SIVA Iron Lord Saladin Forge, who trained both Zavala and Shaxx personally, hears of our successes in our trials totally not caused by anyone and calls upon us for a new threat. The Cosmodrome is diseased, and Rasputin is partly to blame, for he operates the nanotechnology SIVA, which replicated itself and infests part of the Cosmodrome. The Fallen Devil Splicers find it and Sepiks and chaos and a new raid ensues, all thanks to many coincidences and showboating in silence. The Red War Remember the Skyburners? That signal? That was to the Cabal Empire? It turns out that attracted the Red Legion to Earth and started the Red War. Yeah, thanks Oryx/Crota/Savathûn again. One thing of note is Titan, it turns out that here we can piece together her true intent. The Hive battle strategy is to take a planets moon, turn it into a battleship, and pilot it into the planet. Titan is a moon of Saturn, a gas giant, so Saturn itself is off the menu, but what happened with the Dreadnaught? The Hive Brood on Titan is “Savathûn’s Brood” hinting that Savathûn wants to claim the Dreadnaught and do what her brother never could... Curse of Osiris and Warmind were caused by the Travelers pulse, which was a direct product of the Red War.

 • Great post, very analytical. However (small criticism), LfD is mainly about teaching lore to people who may not understand what an “ocean of madness” is, or how the sisters carved a world themselves.
