What these 40 Gambit matches are forcing teams to do
Some afk at worst but for most it goes like this. Lose the first round? Well we better lose the second too because I'm not playing 3 rounds when I need 40 matches. So we throw the game... Bad foresight on this one Bungo. Hell I might just go for pure kills and never pick up a mote or worry about the bosses and once I'm done all the auto shit I will be able to have a dance party for the remaining 10-20 matches.

I did all 40 matches over a Friday night and the following Saturday. Nearly all matches were played with freinds, which made for a good time. No matches thrown, no matches sweaty. Even made progress on Dredgen, even if the damn ship never dropped.

5 RepliesNot gonna lie. When I got into the final 4 matches of this evil quest I did not give a -blam!-. I collected motes till I died. I would invade and then hit the dance emote till I died. The final grind was a blur and I just wanted it to end. Anyone that played with me tonight, I’m sorry but I’m not sorry. -blam!- gambit. And to the team mates that somehow won round 2 and dragged it out to round 3, I hate you.

It should be get 20 wins and bank 100 motes in one game. Same with RNG.. I just stopped playing all together when i saw how unfair the rewards in this game actually is, could not be bothered to grind for a title when its all up to rng. I just needed the auto rifle and one meat ball kill, 300 games later... still nothing! Meatball did not spawn again before after the patch, so he did not drop anything.

It definitely shouldnt require wins as part of the quest, but it should have had a bank 1000-1500 (or whatever amount seems fair) motes to keep people truly engaged.

1 ReplyI played this solo and didnt find it to annoying. Only a couple of games had an afk guy the rest was people trying to win some were awfull but thats to be expected, went on a 6 or 7 streak at one point to.

2 RepliesCompleting a set number of matches or activities in crucible, gambit or PvE should never be a quest step. I understand wanting to extend the grind, but make it more interesting with more varied steps over just playing so many games. They could have had a step for so many kinetic auto rifle kills, then a step for so many energy auto rifle kills, still have the tough enemies step, but then add something like banking so many motes or similar so you’re still forced to actually engage in the game. I’ve personally never been a fan of steps like so many wins or reaching a particular rank in crucible. It is a game for entertainment, I think quest steps should be more about fun than tedium.

At least the requirement didn't require wins... that would be FAR more frustrating IMO. Anytime I get a "win matches" style bounty/quest, its pretty much guaranteed steamroll losses to stacked fireteams vs solo players.

I went bat sh&t running 80-90 matches. I love gambit, but f#ck me! Might have been 100?, since I do not give up in a third round. Wish the gun quest itself was hard to get because of what this gun is doing to gambit... It is ruining it!

It's understandable that some people won't bother anymore. Waste of time. But yes the requirement shouldn't be 40 matches. Even just 1 Gambit match in one day can be cancer. The other day on 1st Gambit match of the day, a salty angry cancerous guy just started sending so much hate mail and taunting while using QB. Me and my partner just sent him the suicide hotline number.

I am that dude, that has the least amount of motes every match, I create motes, runners grab and back, and I am the locksmith. to keep the bank open. they should have made this bullshit WIN 20 Gambit Matches, not get a Fkn OP Auto Rifle for Participating in Gambit Matches its simple. - you win, you get a streak, your streaks reset your Rank Faster. These Rubber Band Rangers must go.

I joined in progress a team that was legit hiding in a tree, zero motes, zero enemies killed, second round ... carnage report showed it was the same in the first round.

3 RepliesMy only incentive to win is the curated Bad Omens. I reset my infamy once in season 4, and it is my belief that another reset in season 5 will count as a second reset for the Curated Bad Omens.
