I think I'm done
So I have been grinding for this gun for the longest time now. I have done all the quest steps except the final one which is to reach glory ranking in competitive crucible. Now im not saying I am a pro pvp player but I'm also not a noob however I haven't been able to move forward with my ranking like at all and even had a 20 loss streak from pug groups and people who rage quit or fighting against players who all run not forgotten or malfeasance. It's kind of upsetting due to the fact that crucible at this point should just be called trust and shotgun as most any original weapon setup is now whatever the meta is. I have honestly thought hard about if I was going to let the quest go and move on and it's not an easy choice but really..when did crucible and questing in general stop being fun and became a chore...give me a quest to kill 1000 players...give me a quest to head shot with all weapons ...give me a quest to melee all guardian types but dont give me a quest where I have to depend on other players and rng-esus for an outcome. Let's face it, if a super gets activated a shotgun shouldnt one shot when a rocket launcher doesnt. A scout rifle should not be out gunned by a pulse rifle whe it comes to distance. Who uses scouts in pvp anymore..why when bygones is a better scout rifle and its not even a scout. I take pride in being shot with a sniper or taken out by an auto...something that requires skill, something that says I have practiced. The other day I had a warlock blink to dodge my blade barrage, was I salty...yes but i was also very impressed because it was a good move. The game contains so many guns....why are only a handful only being used. This is just my rant of frustration and people may say what they want, I'm only asking that crucible get looked at with fine tooth comb and not just allowed to be whatever it has become. Not like bungie reads these things anyway.

3 RepliesI hate to say it man but this kind of "Give me everything" attitude is what got us to D2 Vanilla, where everyone is a winner and all guns are virtually carbon copies of one another with a slightly different coat of paint. I get wanting a weapon and feeling entitled to it after a certain point, but the reality is that if there are winners there have to be losers as well.

I've played a lot of competetive and all i see is ace of spades and shotguns. Some people don't have ace of spades i guess or do not like it so third most popular weapon i see is Go figure. That is it. 3 weapons (everyone is using diferent shotgun but still a shotgun)

4 RepliesJust yesterday I realized that I will never get Luna for the same reasons. I'm mainly a solo player at mid tier skill level. I'm not going to get to Glory level as a solo player at my skill level. Just not going to happen and it sucks. I was hoping for Battlefield V to be in sale so I can simply go back to SBMM gunfight. I'm getting tired of the weapons being such a huge factor in pvp performance. If you don't run certain builds you get nowhere. Even in comp. In D1 I used to play pvp as my main grinding source. Or simply just to pass time. Now Crucible is a chore and/or a lopsided stomp fest. These forums are now only filled with people who support KD and player farming (at least the loudest voices) and throwing the mid tier players to the wolves. It's truly pathetic. If this what Bungie is supporting then I may be out too.

Would you get excited for a gun that won't be able to compete with the handful of weapons you see daily in the crucible. What the -blam!- is the point of even playing for loot when it all sucks compared to the meta. Bungie is too stupid to realize this type of shit pushes people away. You should have a chance to compete with every weapon and you shouldn't have to put more effort into a gunfight simply because someone else is using a faceroll weapon.

I wish they didn’t make gear and loot so RNG and gave people more options to obtain things. I wish they didn’t make some things so convoluted and all activities existed in a way that they could support matchmaking. I wish they would stop putting so much time and effort into activities that a really small percentage of the community actually plays, let alone completes. I wish they would stop tying progression opportunities to PvP and let people that like competition have their fun without having all these PvE players jumping in it to complete personal objectives. If they gave people options on what activities they could use to progress quests, I think it would speak volumes for how little PvP is played. Then they could go from there and give people what they want. This game is marred by its failed attempt to be everything to everyone. It continues to be the epitome of wasted potential in the gaming world, despite that there is definitely fun to be had. I can only imagine what it COULD be.

Just a thought, they probably should have made Luna the non-Comp pinnacle pvp weapon and the Not Forgotten the Comp pinnacle weapon but its too late for that because i don't believe in washing away the hard work of others. I will have to say i'm a little disappointed the new pvp pinnacle weapon is a micro missile grenade launcher, i guess i'll just have to use that to one shot Luna users...if i don't miss...lol!

I too gave up on the last step for Luna's Howl. I'm actually surprised I even attempted it, but I only did it while grinding out my Redricks Broadsword quest step for Comp match completions. The community seems split on it being a great gun, so I opted out on trying for it and putting up with the constant bs of 3v4 matches, horrible connections, META's, and sweaty tryhards. I can only hope at some point Bungie restructures leveling in Competitive matches- again. For example, get rid of the loss penalty, and only make a gain in rank with wins.

I'm in the exact same situation. Looks exactly like something I would write. Even the part about Bungie not reading it. And a new reset (where current Luna owners join the como pool), is going to make it even worse!

The heavy spam and how it's so important to play around heavy in comp, rest of the map is just wasted so much crap in D2 PvP.
