Don't Kill the Wizards in Gambit
This is a tactic I've seen some very smart teammates use in Gambit and I have to say, it really seems to being working. Don't kill the Wizards, don't use any Power Weapons, Supers or the IKELOS shotty.
Simply sit in the back of the spawn and shoot the Primeval with Auto Rifles. Slow and steady wins the race afterall.
Also, remember to let the Invader kill you any chance you get.

Don’t even take guns! It’s easier to win by synchro dancing, sweeping, swinging or stroking your cockerel Guaranteed to make the Primeval fall off the Bank, laughing his ass off!

If you’re leading... it’s actually smart to wait for the first invasion without killing the envoys. Clear the little guys. Don’t give the opposing team any buffs. And melt boss while they’re dealing with their envoys.

9 RepliesI have been ok with this as most players in Gambit are idiots. What I don't like is when a player decides to invade and he can't get any kills and he waits by the portal for it to activate, screwing someone else more qualified to kill the enemy players. Time and time again this happens and the team gets screwed because the invading idiot cannot get kills but wants to invade and ruin the round/match for everyone. If you have a good invader, you can most likely win.

Gambit today has made me pissed off at my teammates beyond belief more than ever. People not helping take out invaders, not shooting wizards, not using supers for dmg, everyone trying to deposit at one station.. I mean I pretty much always solo queue but it's never been bad like today

That is IF you get the primevil. It seems another tactic is to crowd in front of the portal and heavies and not collect any motes. Just let one team mate run around and collect motes why you take turns to invade.

3 RepliesIts nice being corrected by more knowledgable players. Played a solo game the other day, got dropped into a second round teamed up with a three stack, sweet this never happens! My teammates follow along behind me not shooting and steeling all motes as I single handedly lay waste to the fallen. Hmmm...they must want to be the mote collectors, ok fine. I go back to the bank with 3 motes, kill the blockers which are now spawning, bank, then start sniping adds so they can pick up the motes. Motes lying around everywhere. Do they pick them up? Nope. The three stack jumps over and all start punching me in the face. They come over Not to bank the 15-20 motes they are carrying, but just to punch me. Ogre spawns. Invader on the field. Tracking cluster rocket, 20 motes lost. Fine, don't want me to kill adds, you don't want me to defend the bank, you must want me to invade. I go to pick up heavy. Nope, pushed off the heavy. I guess I'll just dance over here then. Enemy spawns primeval, game over. I feel like such an idiot, I know now I should have been waiting in the back of the spawn with a kinetic auto-rifle.

I find that the most effective way to die to an invader is to run out in the open and use the cower emote.

4 RepliesA lot randoms that I play with are using the “let the blockers freely camp the bank” strategy. I haven’t figured out exactly how it works yet, but we did manage to finish a round with ZERO motes a few times...so I guess it’s pretty solid.

I'd recommend not even bothering to bank motes. Then you don't even need to worry about the Wizards at all! That's what the people I get matchmade with do, anyway.

4 RepliesYou can crush the boss without killing them its just if the other team invades successfully then its harder to recover. Usually always end up being the one to melt them. I just use one of my void abilities or weapons to pop the shield and melt them fairrly quickly with Anonymous Autumn. I dropped major spec in it and it melts mini boss yellow health guys like that no prob. If you have 2 people who have any void and a decent weapon you should be able to get both wizards down in less than 10 seconds

1 ReplyIn order to know these things you need to spend a decent amount of time watching vids or reading reddit. We went 17-0 the other day as a fourstack simply because the other teams did not understand the mechanics of gambit. But looking back, I didn't know these things until I was paired with a good team that shared their secrets. I feel the same about heroic public events. The hardest part is triggering it before some rando kills the boss. 9 times out of 10 when I message them afterwards he/she had no idea how to trigger the heroic. God forbid the game give a tutorial.

8 RepliesWhat I hate the most is when the same guardian keeps invading over and over again, before u or another team member can reach the portal. Then they constantly get zero kills, u almost have to hang at the portal to try and beat them through 😬.
