Say what you will about the Warmind DLC...
But the cutscene where Rasputin says his name and gets all pissy is honestly great.
I only had a few complaints about the story, the biggest one in particular is
XOL SHOULD HAVE SURVIVED, I REALLY WISH THE RAID HAD HIM AS A BOSS INSTEAD OF THE LAME-ASS RAID LAYER
It's like that whole thing with the infinite Forest. Your imagination takes hold and you think of endless possibilities and scenarios and traveling through time. What you actually got was three Adventures that are the same every single time with similar environments and what is essentially a snow globe for a planet's play area. Much like the Democrats like to label their failed policies with epic cutesy names that make them sound the opposite of what they really are. Much like they like to call the Mexican cartel running back and forth across the border dreamers. They always like to say" what about the children ?"while drug smugglers and gangsters are blowing each other's heads off, hey THEY have their dreams too. There's a gross discrepancy there. ( I'm independent by the way so don't get all stupid on me, thank you). Point being that The false hype is more prevalent than ever which makes the let down even worse when we discover what it actually is.

    • If you played TTK you'd know that you can't fully destroy a hive God without crossing into the ascendant realm. A streamer that was at the bungie gathering made sure to emphasize this and then shrugged his shoulders and say "maaaaaybe we havnt seen the last of xol...." with a big grin. And he knows some of the details on the fall dlc.... nothing confirmed obviously but the reference was definitely emphasized

Xol was the weakest worm and forever trapped in the ice, bereft of Tribute for God knows how long. Made sense he was somewhat of a bitch. When we fight Yul though. We gonna be shit out of luck mateyboy. But yeah, the final Rasputin cutscene. Holy shit man.

I did love that Rasputin introduction. It was awe-inspiring and chilling. What I didn’t like about the story also has to do with Xol, just not in the way you were thinking
Why do we just pass out in the snow when Xol says, “You will drown in the deep”? Were we really in the deep during that time? And if so, WHY DID BUNGIE NOT PUT IN A CUTSCENE FOR THAT?! Come on guys!
• Xol granted Nokris the power of resurrection. He's alive. Also, Xol is a slave to Sword Logic. Which means that we were much stronger than him. If the logic applies to AIs, we also had a god helping us via Rasputin and his Valkyries.
