Seriously, show me everyone's ping. I just want to know so when I'm getting hit a full second behind cover I know that guy has like 200+ ping. It's useful for trouble shooting as well.
-
What gets me is they disconnect and by some miracle their put back in. I’ve disconnected once since D2 launch in a trials game and guess what it didn’t even attempt to put me back in. If players a lagging or have a high ping the game should just automatically remove then.
-
gotta love shooting a green connection lagger who's skipping, you keep shooting them, their health barely drops, they skip around and you keep shooting, then you see their health bar regenerate as you're unloading into them.

1 ReplySeeing lag in a online game like this (the lag most are talking about anyway) happens in milliseconds so it's hard to notice if you don't know what to look for. When people mention lag you picture slow moving turtles or something but in game like this milliseconds are king. The most notable way to spot it is the whole ghost bullet thing, where you unload a whole clip on someone but it seems half never even touched him.

1 ReplyPing and vote to kick players !!!!!!
-
1 ReplyI've been pvping a bit and i havent noticed any real issues with lag. Out of maybe 30 games in the games in the last week and maybe 2 drops? Maybe your internet sucks.

Edited by RaginSam: 12/4/2017 8:20:12 AMFFS who are you pairing me up with???
-
I keep getting games with poor connections.
-
1 ReplyThey want to hide the fact that they've made zero improvements to connections is the reason why they hide it now
-
2 RepliesThey wont do that because "skill based" matchmaking is connecting you to players in Japan and causing half the lag.
-
3 Replies"The community can't complain about red bars if they can't see the red bars." -Bungie
-
they dont show connection quality anymore because they promised they would fix this in Destiny 2 but decided to keep P2P networking, so its exactly the same if not worse than destiny 1 crucible. If they showed you the players connection strengths they would be caught in their false advertising.
-
1 ReplyWhat's really annoying is when I lag, I can't damage other players. When other people lag, I can't damage them.

Edited by RaginSam: 11/26/2017 5:07:33 AMBump... because it's important and a way for us to see what's going on. There needs to be transparency with stuff like this. It's frustrating as hell playing people that you know have absurd pings, but can't see it. It's a tool to check our latency and to check Bungie's network and to see who we're get paired with in a game.
-
1 ReplyBungie now has hybrid servers....... lolololoool. bs.
-
The old bars were your RNG drop rate. The redder you got it, the more Exotic dropped.
-
Yes. Would be nice.
-
No. Lag and ping doesn't exist. You can't see it and it never existed. Those red bars were just for extra cosmetics.
-
1 Replythey are showing us their d1cks...
-
Lol...run full cover across a rock pillar getting hit and your team looking at the health go down asking you wtf is going on. I could only nervously laugh as a reply, still no -blam!-ing clue.
-
5 RepliesYou don't need ping, sbmm or cbmm. All you need to understand is this: Kd higher than mine - filthy tryhard Kd lower than mine - filthy scrub You're welcome 😎
-
They want to hide the pathetic excuse of a P2P network we run on. They also want to hide the fact that they KNOW we get connected to folks around the globe due to their crap matchmaking. They know they red bar you, DON'T CARE!!!
-
First have bungie explain why it's takes nearly 4 times the amount of data transfer as any other fps multiplayer game per match. Even with 4v4 the multiplayer net code is very inefficient and taxing on casual network usage.

Edited by mja calg: 11/22/2017 4:34:05 PMBungleVisions Lied to us about their server situation for D2. It's already been proven that it's no longer one console is host, it's pure Peer to Peer.

1 ReplyEdited by Codykins: 11/22/2017 2:42:28 AMIt isn't even about pings or connection bars in this game, hasn't been since D1, though bad connections add to the problem.. Bungie programmed this game to run with 1,000 MS / Process Ticks, meaning information from one Xbox / Connection to another takes a SOLID SECOND before the data is fully sent. People's connections just add on to it from there, nearly every other FPS out there runs at 500 MS (Half a second), even Halo PC. So yes, there's ALWAYS a 1 second delay between your Xbox, and the person you're shooting at, on both ends. Yeah, you might have ran / slid behind cover during your gunfight, but the guy shooting at you won't see it for almost a second after you do it, hence why half the time their final shot or two hits you through the wall on your end, because hitscan completely breaks things with such delayed data transfers.
-
Totally unnecessary now. The "new" networking system is not only working as intended but it working flawlessly. If you don't see red bars, then they don't exist. If they don't exist, then things are running very smoothly.
-
They took that out because they don’t want any fingers getting pointed
