For what ever reason i cannot find any way to communicate with any member of a support team so i will post it here.
I own Destiny 2 on PC and as stated above my PC specs are above the recommend settings yet when i actually launch and play the game the highest fps i can achieve is anywhere between 20-50fps (this is with all web browsers closed, discord as well on the "lowest" preset) yet my friend with the same GPU and slightly older CPU can run above 100 fps no problem. What gives why am i having an issues, seeing as though i have no way to ask Bungie i'm hoping someone had a similar issue and is able to help me.
Thanks

1 ReplyTwo things: 1) For some reason, my game stutters if I'm not running at the MAXIMUM possible resolution (which for me is 3620x2036 DSR). I played with all sorts of settings with the textures, detail, lighting, etc., but it was the resolution that was the culprit for me. Once I set it to the max res, it was smooth as butter. Strange that it would be smoother at the HIGHER resolution, but c'est la vie. 2) I can confirm I've experienced frame-drops related to the clan roster not loading memory leak thing that's commonly reported. After playing about an hour or two, I start getting frame drops again, but they go away once I restart the game.

1 ReplyEdited by AQuaintGooch: 11/1/2017 7:50:01 AMSame exact issue here, but with a 1070. Been thinking about a full reinstall of Windows, but that's kind of annoying. :/ If I ever get around to doing that, I'll make sure to let ya know how it goes.

3 RepliesI found that my EVGA 1070 variant was running at 800mhz always when playing D2 which was causing this. Setting it to always be in boost mode (2200mhz) fixed the problem. The game seems to not communicate to the card that it needs more power (Is this a voltage thing?). Hopefully this fixes the issue for you!

Make sure your computer is using the Nvidia gpu and not the onboard video card. I had that issue a while back. For some reason my computer was running the onboard integrated gpu instead of my Nvidia card. You can Google how to set the Nvidia gpu as the primary card.

1 ReplyDo you have your power management setting set to 'prefer maximum performance' in nvidia control panel? If not, changing it might help.

8 RepliesEdited by zen10dough64: 10/30/2017 2:31:09 PMWindows 10 Pro x64 32GB(factory settings) i7 7700K 4.20GHz(factory settings) SSD(Both the OS and games) GTX 1080ti(latest driver, no Geforce Experience) Running Destiny 2 @ 3440 x 1440 @ 125% (21:9) @ roughly 85-120+FPS Ultra/Highest settings(no Motion Blur, no DoF, no Film Grain, no Chromatic Aberration, no VSync(game or driver)). Have you tried setting all video settings to the lowest settings and see if your fps improves? Have you installed the latest driver? Are you using GeForce Experience(known to cause performance issues on some games)? Have you disabled Xbox DVR(known to cause performance issues) on your Windows 10 PC? Have you looked at your Startup settings to see if you have applications/processes running in the background that you may not be aware of? What are the rest of your specs? What you've posted is too vague to actually help you. Have you Scanned/Repaired/Verified Destiny 2's game files via the Blizzard app? Are you running in Fullscreen/Windowed? Do you have PhysX set to Auto/CPU/GPU in your driver settings?(also look over your Global settings in your GPU driver settings and see if anything looks off) Did you mess with your Bios settings?(overclocking, with presets or not, tinkering around to get the most out of your hardware beyond factory settings can cause problems, even when you know what you're doing) You could try installing a clean version of the latest nvidia driver, without Geforce Experience.

Maybe this is irrelevant, but it falls under poor performance and it’s a problem I need help solving. My specs are: Z170 mobo, 8gb ram, pentium g4400, gtx 1050ti, 128gb SSD, 1tb HDD. I have destiny installed on the HDD. I have the new hot fix installed. I have all drivers updated. I cannot and have not been able to even load the game since day 1. It pulls up the title screen, and it immediately doesn’t get above .1 FPS (not exact but you get the point). And it sits so long on the loading screens that it kicks back to title screen 5-10 minutes later. I’ve seen others play it on a setup equal or lower than mine. I have all presets to the lowest they can go. So what gives?

I have a similar setup as you. i7-7700k @4600 GHz and a GTX 1080 running at 2100MHz. While playing at 4k res with all setting maxed I can only achieve 45 FPS. If I lower settings one step I am stable at 60FPS with no drops. If I turn vsync off I can get 100 fps. I'm saying this as a basis for your computer. The one thing I HIGHLY recommend is to download the latest nvidia drivers, as of the post 388.13 don't install them yet but run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and run it in safe mode as it suggests. It will completely iradicate all nvidia files, settings and registry entries. Then after you reboot, reinstall the nvidia drivers. I also highly recommend only installing the drivers, physx drivers and geforce experience if you use it. The other drivers are for the most part just bloatware unless you have a 3D display or use you monitor as speakers. Also I would delete the CVARS.xml file for Destiny 2. It can be found here.... (\Users\USER_NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs\) The official link for DDU is above. Or google it. If after doing this you still can't get stable FPS then something else is wrong.

Apparently I am seeing it may be due to joining a clan. I just joined a clan and now am experiencing frame rates of 50-75 with the i7-7700hq and gtx 1070 with the game installed on 960 evo. No way with our setups we should be experiencing these performance issues. First two days of playing I was playing at 120fps uncapped 75fps constant stream capped at the highest settings. Now I can barely stay above 60fps. Started around the time I joined clan. Thinking about quiting clan and seeing if it helps. I can't think of why it would affect performance.

This worked wonders for me, so I hope it works for you as well. I created this thread with some possible fixes... https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/237075951?sort=0&page=0

5 RepliesVery hard to say what your problem could be. This game has random issues with some pc's thats just not explainable OR FIXABLE. I can't even launch the game on my high end rig :7700k @ 4.9ghz , 2- 1080ti's , 32gh ddr4 .. 4 SSD's , 1 pci-e ssd ... game crashes at start.. when i disable 1 gpu ... game crashes in city hubs. However , My spare rig which has a 4790k @ 4.8ghz , 16gb ddr3 , evga classified mobo , evga 1080sc (standard clocks) gets about 100+ on ultra/high settings with no stutter , lag or crashes.
