Two Major Vex Factions

Over the course of Destiny, we've seen plenty of Vex. However, recent developments, such as
Captain Jacobson's harpy and a particular adventure in which the Vex attempt to call your ghost home
along with specific design elements found within every location containing Vex have led me to two conclusions. First, we've seen that while Bungie may add substantial changes to a race to make a unique subset (Taken), they seem reticent to actually ADD a new race. Given that the ships floating in darkness look an awful lot like the Pyrimidion, I'm going out on a limb and saying those are Vex ships. Second; did anyone else think
that glowing ball of awakened Traveler
looked SUSPICIOUSLY like an inverse to the Dark Heart? And do the shell markings not resemble the mottling of Vex architecture? We do know that the Vex can't simulate light. But... and please bear with me a moment... what if the Traveler is the Vex god of light? We know that the Vex were attempting to call their gods to our system. We know that the Vex and Traveler both have the ability to reshape worlds, and have access to the seemingly impossible. The Red Legion confirmed it was a machine. A god of light (of similar origin) generally exists to counter a god of darkness in most mythos, and we see (through lore and gear) how much the devs love myths and legends. I wouldn't put it past Bungie to have had us working for the light Vex this whole time. Edit bonus: Doesn't your ghost (in both appearance and movement) resemble a Harpy core?

  • It doesn't look like the Pyramidion at all. The Tetrahedral Ships have smooth lines while Vex architecture is very uneven and messy looking. The Heart of the Black Garden was either a shard of Darkness or a worm captured by the Mind, Quria, during the Vex/Hive War. It was an attempt to add paracausal abilities to their arsenal in order to defeat the Hive, their greatest enemy. The Vex are scared of our power and the power of the Darkness. In a way, when the Sol Divisive Vex worshiped the Heart, the Darkness did become their god. However, the Heart seems to be their only connection to the Deep and now that it's gone... they push forward. Also... for the 2984th time... THE. VEX. DON'T. NEED. SHIPS. THEY. CAN. TELEPORT. THROUGH. TIME. AND. SPACE.

    • Just because the Cabal believed it to be a machine doesn't mean or prove that it is one. Ghaul also didn't seem to believe it was a machine, only the Consul insisted it was a machine. The Hive worm gods, who probably know more about it than the Cabal (they've been chasing it for billions of years) call it the Divine presence of the Sky.
