First of all: GT isn't canon. Second of all, I think Goku was fighting in a children's division of the tournament and was ultimately just screwing around. Also, that scene was purely just for gags, and may even be deleted, because I can't find it in English or Japanese. In every [i]real[/i] tournament where Goku was [i]trying[/i], he's lost, but not by a ring out. And the last time he lost a tournament was in Dragon Ball.
