Luke Smith presents a new restriction

Lol a video on the vision of destiny and another slide in from Luke. Loadouts will now be locked in activities without the option to switch. Add this to all weapons having static loadouts, no grimoire, 4 man PvP. This should be called destiny 0.5. Instead of adding to the game they just ripping it apart. All player freedom one update after the next

  • I can see this working in nightfalls, makes it even more challenging. Would also be nice in trials, stops people from switching.

  • He made it clear it was for high-end difficult activitis to challenge the bst PvE players. It will be a version of Raid challenges where entering a load-out lock activity increases the difficulty and the rewards for success. You won't have to do it

  • That odd moment when he said [b][i][u]some activities[/u][/i][/b] would have locked loud outs. Will be an interesting change as long as its similar to modifiers. Would suck if it become the standard for raiding/herioc. Then again after a while people will fimd what works best so ehh

  • Ya, challenges suck and actually having an in-game story will be so much worse than having to go outside the game to hunt down grimoire cards and piece the story together....said no one ever.

    • looks like a fair decision to improve competitivity , if you need to rely on cheap wepoans to win you are a bad player to begin with , identical loadouts will make skill rewarded

    • It adds an additional challenge you pleb. You're probably one of those scrubs who complained about the Nightfall modifier. Getting rid of random weapon rolls that forced many to spend hundreds of hour searching for that god roll. Sounds like a plus to me. No grimoire. No one read the shit anyway. You pleb. Means the lore will be placed in game. 4v4 > 6v6

            Its a challenge...simple as mate Id imagine this will be on trials. Hard mode challenge raids and maybe a few new activities. Its not permanent.

            • Its kind of sad this is their solution to all that is wrong with pvp balancing and cheating for destiny 2. All you had to do was only nerf overpowered weapons, not nerf buff nerf buff when like 2 weapons we're only a problem back then ( thorn and last word, but even last word wasnt horrible). It kind of sucks that they got rid of secondary just cause the balancing was so messed up.

              That's called "predestroying". Do you know Romans pre-damaged Coliseum so it would look more antique? Do you know that Greeks pre-torn their books that they could boast about their value? Do you know that transformers pre-nerfed Bumblebee so Mike Bay can make a movie (a lot of movies, in fact).                 I'll tell you what, it's posts like these that remind me why I left the bungie.net forums three years ago. The level of myopic, 2-dimensional thinking allowed to take up residence in this salt mine is astonishing. I'm literally in total disbelief and dumbfounded by this place. It's a wasteland. How old are you people? Rhetorical question. I really don't care to know.

                  • The[i] idea [/i]of set loadouts doesn't bother me so much, it depends on how it is handled. For example, Halo multiplayer had set loadouts back in the day, and you had to run to the gun spawns. There were playlists like rumble shotguns and rumble swords.I had fun in those. In story missions, we got a set loadout, and had to pick up weapons along the way. It never bothered me. In Destiny, though, one of the things I really like is creating a fun build based on my preferences. So as long as there are enough activities that have the ability to choose loadouts, and the whole game isn't completely oppressive about what to use, I think it will be okay. The only two things I'm worried about are: A- Grind walls. As in, there is an activity with a set loadout. You need Gun A. To get Gun A, you have to grind a ton of activities and hope that it drops. B- It gets frustrating because it doesn't make sense. As in, "You cannot switch to that weapon." popping up at a final raid boss when I want to equip for DPS but the set loadout makes me use weak weapons just to make it hard. I get wanting to increase difficulty, but in my opinion, certain activities like raids and nightfalls should be difficult no matter what weapon loadout you have because of mechanics. I don't want the raids that I play to turn into some YouTuber's "We beat Crota Using Only Shotguns!" challenge.

                  • Creates balance and stops people from abusing the power of some weapons? I approve. No more blowing through a boss with Spindle or avoiding the fight with Icebreaker. Maybe if we're limited, things like Nightfalls will actually be somewhat difficult like Y1?

                    • It's obviously the locked loadout isnt going to apply for everything. It will only be for a few activities to create an extra challenge

                    • Am I only one who likes this idea of locked loadouts??? To me it seems more realistic, and I also think it will make activities harder and more exciting and will require people to use their brain before starting activities.

                      • If you actually listened he says that for some high level activities you are locked on your load out. What is wrong with that? Bring your best, most useful stuff. Just like with any other shooter.
