Lol a video on the vision of destiny and another slide in from Luke. Loadouts will now be locked in activities without the option to switch. Add this to all weapons having static loadouts, no grimoire, 4 man PvP. This should be called destiny 0.5. Instead of adding to the game they just ripping it apart. All player freedom one update after the next

8 RepliesI've been wanting this for awhile, awesome.

1 ReplyFor PVP I don't have a problem as long I know prior to lockout what map I'm going into. I've been dropped into a match midway with say a hand cannon, sidearm and machine gun but it turns out it he Pantheon where I would rather have a scout, sniper and RL. PVE though I can't fathom a reason they would think lockouts would be welcomed. Imagine Trials with loadout lockouts......

I can already see this being implemented for Heroic modes and for Nightfall. Can't say I like this idea though. I tend to go in with the weapons I think will work and rarely change, but that not to say I won't change weapons if the ones I picked aren't working. Guess we will have to wait and see how it works.

2 RepliesD2 is the next Andromeda.
-
3 RepliesWhy do this at all? Looking for a little justification .
-
2 Repliesload lockouts suck...just keeps getting worse with every reveal.
-
Wow this is sad ... Bungie still at it nerfing every part of the game. Even nerfed pvp into 4 v 4 lol.
-
1 ReplyWtf seriously? You don't even know what activities have this locked load out thing. It could be maybe only for the treasure chest things just so ppl won't have crutches.
-
1 ReplyI'll have to wait to see how it's implemented but my initial impression is that this seems more like an annoyance than an actual challenge. I don't really change my load out during an activity other than when I load into pve with pvp gear or vice versa. The only time I actually change is in between raid encounters but since special weapons and heavy weapons are all in one slot now I feel like I probably wouldn't change my load out in raids as much as I did in D1.
-
You call it a static loadout, I call it a gameplay mechanic. I've always thought you should have to really think about your loadout before entering end game activities. And it will probably only be for Heroic activites and end game PvP. Am I the only one that thinks this is marvellous?
-
2 RepliesIf they have a "in combat" system it would be fine, but locking load-outs when you enter a activity and you cant change it before the activity is done.. thats lame.
-
4 RepliesDid they think this through? Locked loadouts will bring back the "must have x weapon" mentality. I could understand this for pvp since they're trying their hardest to make it into halo 5.2. However, for Pve activities this will simply cause elitism to SKYROCKET. I can already see many raid virgins being excluded in guided games because some douche "doesn't have time to help" if the player doesn't have required weapons. Which will ironically be end game weapons that the guardian can't get because he can't find people to help with end game activities. Such a vicious cycle.
-
I agree with you completely. If I wanted set loadouts I'd go play a game series that did set load outs. That and the weapon perks being set is really turning me away from D2. (Not entirely sure if that is even true or not)

Edited by Psyggie: 7/7/2017 12:17:19 PM. SOME activities. Learn to pay attention. People vomolaim about the dumbest crap
-
1 ReplyKnowing Bungie's supreme intelligent design in all things I'm expecting that weapon switching will only be allowed in social areas. They are going to hand tie every aspect of this game including patrols because they lack the simple vision to treat this game for what it should be which is a FPS MMO built in the vein of Halo and WoW having a mutant offspring so that D2 would of been a massive expansion to D1 instead of a scorched earth soft semi half arsed reboot to the franchise.
-
Well it will either turn out fine or they will have to fix it. Either way, there will be players arguing from both sides of the fence. Releasing info early is both a blessing and a curse as it applies to player feedback.
-
2 RepliesNot all activities. Just some. Probably trials. Maaaaaybe iron banner. But doubtful. I could see an "e sports" mode that has this. or rather custom games (if/when they come) have this. But party games pvp and strikes and stories. and raids are far less likely to have this. I really don't see the big deal. They are clearly pushing for a more balanced more competitive experience for the game. I get this isn't for some people. But i'm glad they're doing it. Destiny 1 was a god damn mess that had no idea what it was doing. and barely had any RPG elements. It was the safe bet/right call for them to further push FPS.

See now to people who look at the glass half full like me, I actually really like the idea, it means you are going to have to work as a team and share the load. But you glass half empty people see it as a bad thing lol Typical.

5 RepliesEdited by Eternity: 7/7/2017 10:31:41 AMI reckon we'll just have to wait and see - the way I heard it (in the context of him talking about pve endgame activities being harder than in D1) it will probably only apply to raids, and perhaps only hard mode raids (or CMs even). I don't mind the idea so much for raids, as it will encourage people to take more distinct roles (e.g. ad clearing/dps/support) instead of 6x sniper/rocket. Can't imagine this being a part of pvp really, given you don't even know what map you're playing on until you're done loading in.
-
2 RepliesDon't see the problem. 90%of players all run the same load out non stop anyway
-
34 RepliesYep. It gets farcical now. And the the so called BETA is just what was presented at E3 and before. There will be NO public area! Just imagine why this might be!? Because it's still static, lifeless and sucks. I will remain a D1 player and I hope many more wont switch to D2.

Reading all these posts reminds me of music industry... I like Drake and most of his songs/albums. They have a rhythm and tune which works for me and that's why I like them. Ed Sheeran (another gr8 singer) once did a cameo for a Drake song on live radio show following up fan request. It was good but not that good as original imho. Now remember that these are both gr8 artists so no flaws in either or them... My point is that I like Drake bcz he is Drake and if he changes the way he is I may stop listening to him... I think Destiny is going through same phase. We liked and adjusted to it and now it's changing to something else we are not so sure about. I guess we all need to wait and see what comes out. Is it going to be another gr8 Drake album or a Miley Cirus and Justin Bieber duet...

2 RepliesStep 1 = leave fireteam, go to orbit(or w/e) Step 2 = switch loadout Step 3 = rejoin fireteam Unless bungie blocks us from going to orbit, which is just wrong, this lockout thing might not work.
-
2 RepliesIt stops cheaters so hey it's fine by me give everyone a fair chance to get their space butts defeated instead of being crushed
-
4 RepliesSounds fine to me. Pisses me off when every few seconds I hear "hang on, switching weapons" or "give me a minute, transfering shit from my vault"...
-
I can see this working in nightfalls, makes it even more challenging. Would also be nice in trials, stops people from switching.
