So I'll try to keep this short as there have been a number of posts regarding this weapon. Has anyone considered that it's one of the only weapons that can apparently kill a guardian beyond their ghosts ability to revive them? While the details of the death of Jaren Ward at the hands of Dredgen Yor is somewhat of a mystery one thing is certain, his ghost did not revive him. It goes to reason that it didn't bring Ward back because it couldn't.
All other lore and theories about this gun aside, it is incredibly powerful. Aside from Hive Ascendant swords it may be the only weapon that can truly kill a guardian. Every other time record shows a guardian die, their ghost is what was destroyed. This would explain why research into what Yor did was banned by the Vanguard and his history buried. But one has to wonder, what else could this gun do?

2 RepliesOther guardians using the title Shadows of Yor(or something similar, look up Dredgen vale) took modified versions of the thorn into the crucible and killed guardians with them. But apparently a lot of stuff can permanently kill guardians, the ingame made it seem like only super strong hive could, but grimoire mentions plenty of others than have killed guardians, and siva killed guardians too.
