How do I make a custom avatar/icon?

As far as custom avatars go, if you had your Halo stats linked to your Bungie.net profile (way back when on halo.bungie.net), you can use your old Halo avatars by scrolling to the very last of the Avatar selections. Other than that, custom avatars are only used by Bungie.net employees, Forum Mentors, and Forum Ninjas.
