Edit... Bungie has already said not more vault space. This make the VAST majority of this irrelevant at this point... read post and complain at your OWN PERIL

Okay, so with the new DLC, they've promised that ALL the raids will have returning and new goods and be light appropriate. We've seen Fate Bringer and the Myth returning and new Vex souped up armor so I'm going to say that ALL raids will have some version of this mechanic of altered and/or buffed weapon and armor sets... including WotM. I really hope VoG, Crota, and KF bring some good side arm goodies And I'd love to see swords inspired by each of the raids as well.
SO on top of all the returning buffed up, and possibly new weapons and armor from the raids, we also saw on the stream that there are achievements for unlocking all exotics... both weapons and armor as well.
So the raids have stuff we can use again, and you have rewards geared toward my hoarding needs in the record book but you won't let me hold it all???
So lets look at this from a #'s perspective...
Excluding Artifacts and HM variances this is how this breaks down.

Then we have another 63 exotic pieces of armor for 123 pcs of armor. (AGAIN ONLY 108 SLOTS???)
Add the HM back in and that's 155 pcs of armor, 167 including Artifacts from Reg and HM.
THAT IS LITERALLY OVER 1.5 times the vault space right there.
That STILL doesn't factor in armor w/ random stats and trying to find sets for specific builds... That's just assuming you keep one of each regardless of how they match your set-up for play style.
This also doesn't include all the Iron Banner or Trials weapons or armor sets or anything from factions like Vanguard, Crux, DO, NM, or FWC, Prison or Queens. Which all have their own armor and weapon sets (AND HAVE Multiple versions performance and cosmetically).
The Stream said the raid drops were very generous at least in the current beta, but does that do us anygood if we have no place to put it w/o throwing out something else we want to keep also? I've had to work darn hard to collect sets of stuff with the right percs only to have to throw out entire sets to make room for new stuff and we're about to be forced into this diabolical regret amchine again....
We'd need a minimum of 5 times the amount of total storage as we currently have across all three characters, the postmaster and the vault.
Bungie... Please understand that if there was EVER a time to be a collector in Destiny then that time starts March 28... and that means it likewise is the perfect time to open the vault doors wide open. Please help us who actively like to hunt and collect all this gear to be able to KEEP if for a change.

1 ReplyI think instead of having 3 different pages it could just be one big vault. I have no armor in the vault but like 80 guns in the vault so I have a bunch of empty space where armor should go. It should just be one big vault.

It's too little (or too much?) too late for me. They should have brought the old raids and gear up to current light level a while back. At least with the release of RoI. Vault space isn't even my big complaint, although it is a real issue. My big thing is why am I going to break my back getting all of this new cool stuff, getting attached to it, when September is right around the corner? And don't tell me that Destiny 1 will continue to be supported, I know, but who is really going to fire it up after D2 comes out? I might rather fill in the gap with Mass Effect Andromeda and Game of Thrones.

First off why collect the artifacts with iron lord artifacts in the game? And second it wont take up that much vault space because people like me keep more than whats equiped in inventory. I mostly have no more than 6 open spots in each equip space. Mostly 3-4 open spots. For the few people yes itll be a space problem but not everyone keeps everything. I trash sidearms and fusions mostly. Most of the kingsfall weapons as well because theyre such trash

except 4 months down the road none of that is going to matter I mean, i'll still be playing this game after the next one rolls out... but hardly ever unless it is verified that Bungie will continue to work on maintaining the infrastructure doubt it yup, four more months and this won't matter that much at all

1 ReplyThe reason why they aren't expanding the vault space is because this game dies in 6 months people. They are giving us refreshed old material and that's should be about it. Next month is last real update. Get rid of year one everything. Make room for refreshed gear and guns and be good with it. Destiny 2 will have it to start. I doubt they would make that mistake again.

3 RepliesOn one hand, i like the ability to collect, but on the other, how many do you really use? Those numbers on storage space are also forgetting that each character can hold 30 weapons and a total of 70 armor/ghost/artifact/class item. That is another 300 item slots total not including what is equipped. As far as artifacts go, is there really any reason to use one other than those with special effects? (Other than just collecting.)

1. No you don't need to hold onto every item you get 2. You seem to be forgetting about the 90 weapon and 150 armor slots you have on your characters

1 ReplyI don't mind the lack of space TOO much... I just wish it wasn't 108 ONLY for weapons, 108 ONLY for at more, and 108 ONLY for items. I wish it was just 324 spaces. Self organizing by category, but not limited categories. So I could keep 200 guns, 80 pieces of armor, and 44 items if I wanted.

2 RepliesKiosk. The live team has added these in the past and should be able to add more now. They did this as a workaround to limited vault space that they can't fix. Bungie isn't keeping vault space low to be mean or anything. And if they were being greed money grabbing bastards they would if sold us more storage space like other games do. No there is a physical limitations of what this game engine can do and that's it. Also this is not a dlc it's an update.

The exotic weapons and armor vending machine should be modified to allow you to pull out a 400 light level item with the full perk tree unlocked if you have already upgraded that exotic item previously. Also ornaments that were unlocked would need to come with it. Bungie is considering the kiosk part of the 'storage solution' but im not willing to dismantle some of my exotics if i have to start over upgrading them on repurchase. This promotes me keeping all exotics in my vault that i can fit and also promotes me keeping max light legendaries in my vault with garbage perk rolls so that if I do need to pull an exotic out of the vending machine I have something available to sacrifice to upgrade it with. I understand there is some reason bungie doesnt want to expand the vault but if you could at least make this change it would allow me to better utilize my existing vault space.

The helmets represented the downing of the final raid encounters Weapons wise, I'm maxed out at 9 weapons per character, with 1 slot open for drops and 107/108 in the vault for transfers. That's a total of 188 weapons... I keep no exotics, except gjallarhorn, truth, TLW, icebreaker, swords, raid exotics (vex, necro, ToM, OP) and exotics adorned with ornaments. I did keep my first Y1 gjallarhorn dropped from Ir Yut though. While I would love more vault space, I've realized that I probably only use 20% of the weapons I've kept... and I probably use 10% regularly... I regularly re-buy and delete exotics as well.... 95% of my weapons kept in the vault are legendary. What I'm getting at is.... for a hoarder like me, we will never have enough space. I ask myself if I will ever use this item again and a week from now, will I remember ever having this item? And.... who cares? Literally me and only me. And even for a hoarder like me that is trying to keep everything I possibly can... a Crota's Raid helmet is enough for me to remember what I went through for that fight and if you have one too, we understand each other very well. 6 hours of standing around doing the nlb/ice breaker heavy glitch, using red death, suros, apotheosis veil, creating orbs to regain health for your fire team.... moving down to ogres below the boomer room, making it back upstairs without anyone dying and setting off the oversoul. The immense amount of pressure on the swordbearer.... This was just one encounter. Although I do have 3 extra 'essence of crota' on each of my characters just 'cause... but that is neither a weapon nor an armor piece!

14 RepliesI'm amazed at the number of trolls,.. Oops, I meant people that are okay with the lack of vault space. So you're not a collector, that's fine. We get it. You can clear out your vault because you don't care about your items. We are collectors, can you just let us ask for the thing we want to ask for without being a troll? If you aren't a collector, then more vault space won't affect you. But less vault space does affect us. Since it doesn't affect you, why are you taking the time to comment on a thread that has nothing to do with you? We aren't asking for a nerf! We aren't asking for a super powerful gun! We just want the space to hold on to the things we've collected.
