Auto Rifles Aren't Assault Rifles
Here's the thing. You said a "auto rifle is an assault rifle." Is it in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that. As someone who is a swesticle who studies modern feminism, I am telling you, specifically, in Destiny, no one calls auto rifles assault rifles. If you want to be "specific" like you said, then you should too. They're not the same thing. If you're saying "assault rifle family" you're referring to the swesticle grouping of le bungie army, which includes things from neckbearded 400 lights to highly intelligent intellectual like myself.
So your reasoning for calling an auto rifle an assault rifle is because random people "say that only uninformed people say auto rifles?"

The phrase has been a carch-all term for intermediate caliber, full-auto, military style rifles and their semi-auto cousins. This has been perpetuated for some time, and no one can be sure when it began. The AR-15 was made by the aviation engineering company Armalite, specialists at engineering aluminum.
