Why is tether not instant?
Been away for a while, came back and tether still doesn't instantly activate and cancel supers. What's the point? To try and predict when someone will cast a super?
Edit: I apparently don't get tethered often. Was unaware of this 90 rip if you are facing away from the tether. But then you're perfectly lined up to shoot the tether.
Basically, it is what it is. Wish it was instant but what can you do.
Edit 2: -blam!- THIS!!! Just hit a blade dancer with a tether and STILL got killed. Wtf is the point?

2 RepliesIt's only instant if you hit them directly, shooting near them will cause the regular activation to occur. The update which added this was ages ago......

They don't want it to be a panic super. It has range do you can safely use it without being hurt along with tethering the guardian.

It probably does cancels super instantly but peer to peer...

I agree with what he's saying, it should be instant on ALL surfaces, what's the point in baiting a super into your tether if they can come kill you anyway? - at least for me this is the biggest one. As for the 90 degree angle change, get rid of it it's just not needed.

Sometimes it doesn't even matter if their tethered, yesterday during a trials game I activated a tether knowing there was a titan with smash around a corner, a parter went around to flank it was 2v2, he killed one person while the titan reverted to shooting at him I go in, while he is tethered was he was still able to kill my partner by shooting him which I'm not mad at, but as I go in to close it with fusion rifle kill, he panic smashes me, then after his smash shows that he is still clearly in my tether, yea I have never called such bullshit ever before in destiny but that time it was

It is for other guardians to have a chance to get away with the reaction time. Won't matter though when you get range perks.

if you hit it's near instant if you miss it takes a while. imo the suppress on a miss should take a little because you didn't hit (yeah i know it's not easy up close) and that's a little bit (prbly instant death) of punishment there.
