If you are serious about hand cannons use First Curse, it is the best there is. You cannot wave a hand cannon around, firing like Yosamite Sam, and expect to accuracy as a matter of course. Precision is earned not given.
Now, go and learn how to shoot straight.

When the ridicule is on the dome, it SHOULD HIT! just like a fast hitting any other gun in the game. I can quick fire with a pulse to the head with very little recoil. I should be able to do the same with a handcannon that fires with considerable higher recoil than 90 percent of all the guns in the game. It's supposed to reward a steady hand not a slow shot.

I can headshot at fire rate, with my beloved First Curse. Was I able to do this over night? No. It took time to master the skill. if you are not willing to put the time into learning the core hand cannon skills, then you deserve to miss. Practice, practice, and practice once more. if you dedicate your time to hand cannons, you will master them.

I mastered rate of fire in every fps I've ever played.i have more head shots with hand cannons than any other gun both in pvp and pve. Matter of fact my kills are over a hundred thousand! -hows that for practice?!?! All this does not excuse the fact that (bloom) is detrimental to stated primary weapon. My pulse rifle with radar, body shots hits increasing headshot damage, and completely maxxed out stability owns anyone 1on 1 due to the fact that I aim very well even though I'm not a pulse player. My handcannons, though they be great in stats due to my severe grinding don't hold up to the same caliber. Bloom robs many from a certain kill it and alludes me as to why they are stripped of skill and replaced with chance? Yes, first curse is a good exotic. I've used it from time to time but I have handcannons that should go toe to toe with any gun close to mid range and they don't. User error is not the problem according to my handcannon kills and precision shots. Enjoy a primary that is a shadow of it's former self!

Indeed you do have hundreds of thousands of hand cannon kills, What have you learned, whilst using hand cannons? Surely you must have all but mastered hand cannons by now? How many rounds do you have to fire, before you know a weapon type inside out? I too have hundreds of thousands of hand cannon kills, however unlike you, I see the faults in my own technique, and fix them. You are still at the point where the weapon is at fault, and you are oblivious to your own faults. Hand cannons have not been robbed of skill and replaced with chance either. They are still the skilled weapons they always were, the issue is that the 'skill band' has been tightened considerably. In the past, Bungie were happy for there to be a broad church of Guardians that could use hand cannons effectively, but they must have had a moment of clarity, and decided to make hand cannon use even more specialised.

I'm glad you have the clairvoyance and insight of diagnosing my aiming and shooting ability without ever seeing me play (pretty arrogant of you). But the FACT STILL REMAINS: fire at just the right speed while getting the first hit on someone does not guarantee the kill from close to mid range. Shoot a little quicker, you get bloom. Shoot a little slower, you get out gunned. Even with the proper pace, which isn't hard to learn, they don't perform up to other primaries with great rolls. Yes I get kills. Yes I have a positive kd... not epic, but positive. Yes lag has a lot to do with it and there has been a lot of lag lately. But how can so many that love this type of primary and see a problem be so wrong? In essence godroll anything trumps godroll hand cannon over 50% of the time close to mid range for many and I mean many players. Look up the stats my friend, they don't lie. Good day to you.

I have studied every Guardian that I have ever seen using a hand cannon, I have studied every Guardian in my collective that has used a hand cannon, and I have observed my own progress with the weapon type. Whilst I cannot predict the future, I can make an honest and objective assumption on a Guardians style of play with hand cannons. Can I ask you why you think that it is arrogant to make these kinds of assumptions, when you can look at the kd of another Guardian, and form an opinion on their abilities? Why is it arrogant to look at your precision kill ratios, and not form a similar opinion? If you read back through my response, you will see that I asked you a series of questions. By now, with as many hand cannon kills, and the accuracy levels you have (particularly in PvP), you should have noticed that there are different ways of using hand cannons. You must also be at the point where you are aware of your own mistakes, you should not still be blaming phantom bullets for your misses. I only have five percent more accuracy in PvP that you have, but I never have any issues with phantom bullets. Phantom bullets are not an issue for those of us (of which you should be one) with high enough levels of precision in PvP, only the less skilled suffer from that game mechanic. You have an idea about the issues that are afflicting hand cannons, but whilst you see the issue, you do not see the problem. The problem is entirely with the meta, the incessant parade of overpowered weapons, that keep hand cannons in check. Over successive meta refreshes there has been weapon after weapon that has outperformed hand cannons, in either range, or rate of fire. Bungie only need to do two things to put hand cannon in a good place. Remove the meta, and remove the draconian damage fall-off they implemented a few months ago, other than that, hand cannons are just right.

Agreed.

again, another idiot missing the point
-
What is the point that I am missing? You have a FOURTEEN percent precision kills ratio with hand cannons, there are so many things wrong with your precision, how can you be certain that phantom bullets are to blame every single time? You have barely used hand cannons, and you are certainly not at the point where you can claim to be an authority, or know the weapon type inside out. I am. I am a hand cannon master. You are the 'idiot' that is missing the point, hand cannons are high risk, and high reward weapons, you have to specialise in their use. Hand cannons are not pick up and play, you cannot use them casually and expect performance, precision has to be your watch word. You aim for the head, and if you miss, you analyse your shortcomings and hit it next time. I will tell you a story. I came to these forums once, claiming to be a hand cannon master, and a random Guardian shot me down and claimed that a 48% PvP precision kills ratio was 'meh', as he put it. Rather than taking exception to his remarks, I took the Guardian at his word, perhaps 48% was 'meh'. So, I went away, worked on my precision, and tightened up my techniques. I set a target of reaching 60% accuracy in PvP. It took effort, practice and dedication, but the last time I looked, my PvP precision kills ratio was 55%, only 5% away from the 60% target I have originally set. You have to practice, practice, and practice once more, to masteer hand cannons. If you are one PS4, add me, and I will take you through the same drills I use to tighten my techniques, it will not take me long to diagnose your short comings, and give you tips an how to improve them.

Edited by Vault of Glass: 8/11/2016 7:18:34 AMthis is an issue bungie has addressed and they know it exists. hand cannons are my most used primary. low precision ratio because of last word. I use an eyasluna everyday and do very well. my recent games take a dump on yours. I have more lighthouse visits then you. I excel in sweats every week. shall I make more points to counter your stupidity? muted my god. you're in a very small minority. I'm glad you use hand cannons mate. you're still shit tho.
-
You types of Guardians are all the same, when they cannot counter an arguement, they change the subject onto something else. The conversation is about hand cannons, so who cares how many times you have been to the lighthouse? For all I know, you could pay to get carried every week. Accuracy is a skill that is impossible to fake, and is one of the best methods of determining true gun skill, particularly with hand cannons. I use hand cannons exclusively, and I never see phantom bullets, to the degree that people claim, even with faster firing hand cannons, I might have to question one or two rounds A NIGHT, and that is it. Learn how to use hand cannons to their full potential, before you claim to understand them.
