I need PlayStation Plus to have fireteams in Destiny PS4?
When did this happen? It worked fine on PS3. Now I have to pay $50 a year just to have multiplayer?
Without it I can't do strikes, crucible, or raids. Since when does Sony or Bungie need more money for multiplayer? Will I actually get an improved experience?

Bungie isn't charging the $50, Playstation is. It's necessary for server performance.

PSN improved massively after ps+ was brought in. It was godawful before. Nowadays I get download speeds of around 6mb per second on a good day. It used to be like dial up when ps3 launched. You have been benefitting already :) Shop around and you'll find someone selling either 12 month ps+ codes or $50 psn wallet codes for a little cheaper. I use cdkeys.com It's £40 rrp here in the UK I usually get it for around £32. Plus there's free games each month. Quality varies according to your taste but there's usually at least an evenings entertainment each month. Rebel Galaxy this month is quite good fun. Well worth the monthly cost.

1 ReplySony stated a [i]loooooong[/i] time ago, before the PS4 even released, that PS+ would be required for premium games with multiplayer. You should really research before you buy.

PS4 in general - requires PSN+ for online gaming - you'll find it's the same for all PS4 games.

PlayStation Plus is required for online play. This has been the case since PS4 launch.

Sony moved away from the free model for their online services. Which I was honestly surprised they took so long, not that I didn't enjoy not having to pay. Then for games the devs/publishers get a little extra for adding this to their games. While it sucks that's the way it works. Plus the free games you get once a month are sometimes really good. Not including the discounts you get on other titles in the PS store. Then the PS+ show Supers is actually pretty good, haven't watched any of the second season though.

Will I actually get an improved experience?[/quote] Since PS4 launch PS3 is not PS4 and yes Has nothing to do with Bungie, it's a Sony thing Yes and no, PS+ gives ya some free games every month (most suck but every now and then you get a gem) but does nothing for Destinys game experience other then group ups

Well I mean, the ps3 servers were complete shit, and the PS4 servers are pretty good. That's probably due to people paying for it

Edited by RedWineHangover: 8/4/2016 2:00:59 PMThat's not just Destiny, that's a PS4 thing. To play any online multiplayer on PS4 you need a PS Plus subscription. It created a fair bit of criticism when PS4 came out, which is understandable when most people had (like you) been used to it being free on PS3.
