I'm cautiously hopeful. The beta was fun but the single player is the meat of the game for me personally, so that's where it'll need to succeed. And I don't mean to sound like a graphics whore, but in 2016 I really hope the game looks better than it did in the beta. That was atrocious.

1 ReplyWell, I had fun with the beta. I just hope the Campaign stacks up alongside 2 and 3. I'm not sure crazy-powerful weather and 'drop your own cover from the ceiling' will be enough atop the admittedly-polished core.

1 ReplyNot at all. Series should've died after Epic stopped making them. I just can't see how this game offers anything more than a average 3rd person experience nowadays. Looked boring as hell at e3. Don't get the hype for it.

The new characters aren't the slightest bit of interesting and don't even get me on the worst replacement of an antagonist ever. The Swarm? Pfft, they look like medium rare mutated crab people. Lol, first Halo, then Gears of War, my favorite game series are dying, I only have Borderlands left...

Hmm, dont know. Really need to see what Horde is like. Hammerburst has been dumbed down which makes it less of an alternative primary which is a huge turn off since it was good in Gears of War 3. Story is probably a meh, the franchise doenst really dive into its own origins of its antagonist too well; which after the events of three will probably will be a mess. Character wise seems they are appealing to the under 18 demographic, but these might just be some kids thrown into this situation by an emerging "swarm" of a threat. Multiplayer wise it'll be a smoother Gears, which is nice. Focus is mainly on shotties like in Gears 1, from my experience in the Beta, the Lancer didn't feel as accurate as it should be.

1 ReplyHonestly.... the demo at E3 was like the most boring thing there. And I've had my fill of Gears. I played a ton of Gears 2 and 3. The new protagonist(s) seem pretty generic and uninteresting, too

5 RepliesEdited by Seraph: 7/16/2016 7:10:39 PMDon't get me wrong, I'm a fan of the franchise, I loved the first 3 games ( never played Judgement ) and I've read all the novels, I'll definitely be getting Gears of War 4, [u]but[/u] there isn't an awful lot of excitement for part 4 on my end. I'm getting it more out of curiosity and loyalty to the franchise than anything else. The original trilogy had a very complete ending and I'm not really sure where they are going with part 4. Then there is the fact that Gears of War Ultimate Edition on the Xbox One feels a bit glitchy and I find the gameplay isn't as smooth as it was on the 360 so I have some concerns about 'The Coalition', can they deliver on their ambitions? I was also a little put off by a lot of the party banter in the E3 2016 demo. Kait Diaz' voice in particular felt very shrill and she never seemed to shut up ( which was very shocking to me since Laura Bailey is one of my favourite voice actors and I think her range is phenomenal, I never thought I'd live to see the day she voiced someone and I did not enjoy the performance ).

I loved gears but I wasn't to pleased with the beta. Obviously Ill still get it though.
