2 RepliesNeither. SmoggyPluto is by far the strongest & most legendary. I wonder what happened to him...
-
3 RepliesOsiris is stated to be in a permanent radiance. That's pretty ridiculous
-
4 RepliesIt's likely to be Toland as he is the only guardian to have ever (in theory anyhow) survived the death singers song and become an ascendant being. This is theoretical of course
-
2 RepliesUs. We are the strongest.

1 ReplyEdited by The Big Doogan: 7/11/2016 10:19:55 PMLore wise Osiris was recognized as a great warrior by Saint 14. Beyond that the greatest feat a named Warlock has is Ikora Rey becoming a Stormcaller. In the lore becoming a Stormcaller is meant to be extremely difficult to control and actually very rare to even awaken the power. In my eyes though the character you control is far and away the most powerful of any guardian. You defeat Atheon Time's Conflux, Crota the Eater of Hope,Skolas the Kell of Kells, and now Oryx the Taken King. One of those kills was a legendary war hero of an advanced alien race, two were literal Gods that could manipulate reality, and one was a machine god that could manipulate time. No named character is touching any of those feats any time soon.

Depends on how you define strength. Toland is probably magnitudes more powerful than the average Warlock and probably the Kingslayer as well (assuming the player is a Warlock), but Toland's strength is in Hive magics and Darkness. In terms of Light, Toland is just as guttering as Dredgen Yor. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Toland killed his own Ghost and made some ritual weapon from it, like the Hive Wizards. Osiris I don't know about, since I haven't read enough about him in the Grimoire. I always considered his greatest strengths to be his charisma, thirst for knowledge, and conviction. I don't know how Guardians become stronger in the Light lore-wise, or if they can become stronger at all. I mean, the gameplay mechanic is there, but I have no idea whether it means anything for the lore. Maybe weapons and armor can become better channels for Light, but then does that mean that the Guardian himself channels more Light from the Traveler, or is it that the Guardian has an inherent Light strength and some gear is better at channeling the Guardian's immanent Light? If Warlocks are able to increase their total Light by better understanding it, then I say Osiris in his studies is probably at least as dangerous in battle as Toland and almost certainly is more than a match for Ikora and the Kingslayer. If they can't and Light strength is fixed or relative to unknown variables related to interaction (conscious or otherwise) with the Traveler, I reckon the Kingslayer is currently the most powerful of their Guardian class in terms of sheer Light strength.

16 RepliesEdited by InspectorTaco: 7/9/2016 4:32:40 PMOsiris. Why do I say that? Only because the greatest Titan of that age (Saint-14) saw him battling and practically begged the Speaker to put him in a higher position. Not only this, but Osiris left the early Consensus confused and doubtful while he recruited strong Guardians to his cause like a futhermucking badass. He has wandered the Vex networks, turned the Darkness into a real identifiable threat, and managed to stay alive through all of it. Currently, Osiris is alive and has a physical form of some sort. We know this because he met with Mara Sov and Eris Morn recently. I want to meet him- no, I want to join him. I don't care if Bungie decides to play the whole "he was consumed and now is evil" card; I want to join the Cult of Osiris. I digress. Edit: Toland is a strong Warlock, but he was not truly aligned with the Light. For a short period - while trying to replicate the process to make a weapon of sorrow - Toland saw the dark and embraced it like a friend. I'm aware that Osiris has almost done the same thing, but Toland was alone; isolation can turn the greatest minds upside-down. Even if Toland was/is the one who led us to Oryx (the pretty white ball that floats) and the one who was speaking in the last calcified fragment card, I don't trust him. The things he's done to understand the Darkness - trying to learn the Deathsinger's hymn, seceding to death in order to roam the Hive "afterworlds", etc. - are the definition of too much.

12 RepliesI am. Why? I can change to all three subclasses. I've defeated Time's Conflux, The Kell of Kells, two Hive gods; Crota, Son of Oryx and Oryx the Taken King. I have crippled the Fallen houses, decimated the Cabal Empire's command within our System, taken command of a Paradox that lies above Saturn, I weird the swords of Oryx the Taken King! I am the most powerful. But! There is a great threat to my power. One that sent Osiris away! One that turned Toland mad! A force of Darkness that is said to be unbeatable. Painted with the blood of thousands of Guardians the GREAT RED BAR OF LAG DECEIVES THOSE IT ENCOUNTERS AND CAUSES ANGER TO BOIL TO AN UNTHINKABLE TEMPERATURE! Still. I am the greatest Warlock. Anyone else who is a Warlock...
is the greatest Warlock too.
3 RepliesIkora Rey; she can blind all enemies with her bald head.
I mean, have you seen the SpongeBob SquarePants movie?
-
5 RepliesOsiris. He is a champion and revered by many guardians including Saint 14 during the Twilight Gap. Not only that but he has better knowledge of the Vex and Hive. Toland only has knowledge of the Hive. Osiris is confirmed to still be alive while Toland is MIA, possibly lost to the darkness.
