People should not be forced to "adapt and embrace difficulty". Games are made for people to have fun. Anyone should be able to have fun. Don't be an elitist.

The problem with these kinds of arguments is that they embrace the idea that difficult/competitive and fun are mutually exclusive.

It's not about being an elitist, it's about he fact, that modern gamers are too soft and want everything to be easy, because it's "not fun for them to be challenged." Being able to overcome a challenge is more fun than anything. Also, if you read my post, I'm not talking about getting rid of casual content, I'm talking about having content for casual players and hardcore gamers. WoW did this perfectly back in the day.
