What does it mean to be a Hunter? Hunters were the first guardians to scout the territory and gather supplies beyond the city's walls. They are masters of the wilderness. The Hunter's may have originated from the Takanome Rangers. They were led by Ayane Takanome and armed with sniper rifles, and helped countless refugees go to the safety of the city's walls and the protection of the traveler. Some famous Hunters of Destiny are: Pahanin Errata, Shin Malphur, Jaren Ward, Ana Bray, Dredgen Yor, Cayde-6, and Andal Brask. We will talk about Pahanin, Shin, Jaren, Ana, and Andal. Let me start with the story of Jaren Ward. Jaren Ward was the original wielder of the infamous The Last Word. He was a guardian of the light. One day he went to a town called Palamon, when he reached Palamon, Shin Maplhur, a young boy was amazed by The Last Word. After killing the cruel governor of Palamon, Jaren took Shin and some others on a trail after Dredgen Yor destroyed Palamon. (presumably to the city), but when they were on the trail Jaren was struck down and killed permanently by Dredgen Yor and his thorn. Shin Malphur then took up The Last Word and Jaren's ghost and became a Guardian of the light. Shin was distraught by Jaren's death and hunted down Dredgen Yor. He killed Dredgen with the golden gun. Now for Pahanin Errata. My favorite. Pahanin was an original member of Kabr's fireteam that went into the Vault of Glass. When they were inside, Pahanin witnessed the death of both Kabr and Praedyth. He basically went insane and built an AI into his machine gun, creating the super good advice. He then escaped the vault and warned everyone about it. Shortly after he was murdered by Dredgen Yor. Let's talk about Andak Brask. Andal was a Male Hunter, and he was the Hunter vanguard before Cayde-6. He thought that Cayde-6 may have been the legendary warmind Rasputin, but Cayde didn't think so. Andal challenged Cayde to the vanguard dare, and Cayde lost and has to become the Hunter Vanguard after Andal was murdered by Taniks. Cayde now wears Andal's cloak. Now for the last "Famous" hunter, whom many of you might now know about. Ana Bray. Ana Bray was a female hunter who was the leader of the "wolf pack" which was the legion of Hunter's that fought at The Battle of Twilight Gap. Their symbol was the wolf, as seen on the "Strength of the Pack" cloak and the legendary Gjallarhorn. Let's take a quick look at the three hunter subclasses. Gunslinger, Bladedancer, and Nightstalker. Gunslinger is the first subclass you unlock. You summon a flaming Last Word, because Shin created the Golden Gun when he used the last word and three bullets to kill Dredgen Yor. Now to Bladedancers. Bladedancers are masters of stealth and arc. Blades are an extension of your arm, your reflexes, your light. Also, they got their cloaking from Rasputin tech. Now to the final subclass, Nightstalker. They stalk the night, firing arrows into the darkness. They don't hunt the beast. They become the beast. One of the great Nightstalkers was Tevis, and that's how we got the ability of the bow.
