Decrease ammo synthesis cooldown from 5 minutes to 3:30 to compensate for decreased machine gun and sniper rifle ammo.
The ammo nerfs intended to balance PVP had a negative effect on the effectiveness of PVE players by making them run out of ammo faster. Allowing us to use synths more often can counterbalance this negative side-effect. Ammo synthesis does not work in PVP, so this is a good way to buff PVE without effecting PVP.
A more complex might be to reset the timer when the fireteam wipes during a strike or a raid, but I imagine this would be harder to program.
That's it, thanks for reading.
EDIT: To anyone saying Bungie can just revert the ammo decrease, how realistic to do you think that is? If Bungie did it to balance PVP, and if it has the intended effect on PVP, I doubt it will be changed.

How about 5 seconds? Sounds about right to me
-
-
Or just put it back to what it used to be. The stupidity of Bungie boggles the mind.
-
Reducing synth cd is not a solution. Then synths would become a requirement and people would be asking for more synths. They need to buff the amount of bricks that are dropped. I dont care if it gets rediculous and the floor is littered with primary bricks. If reserves are lower, more bricks are needed. They knew that, they just didnt buff the drop rate enough.
-
I don't agree with this only because primary synthesis isn't sold at the gunsmith anymore. Reducing the amount of special ammo we have has placed increase strain on my primary ammo consumption and I find myself running short of BOTH. I can't get primary ammo synth readily like I could in Y1. Rather than do this, all they need to do is apply PVP "fixes" ONLY to the PVP side of things and leave PVE alone.

The solution is the revert the nerf. its doing more harm than help. there waasnt an ammo issue to begin with in pvp
-
Easier solution: Revert the ammo reserve nerf in PvE. And buff Hand Cannon reserve ammo.
-
Actually I wouldn't mind that...the cool down appears more frustrating lately since I'm running low on heavy so easily and special.....I would suggest that and on top have a different cooldown for heavy and special synths...but that may appear broken to them so scratch that...yeah seems a good idea man.hope the listen to that if they don't address the ammo drought
-
Great post and here is some of what I think needs to be addressed! Handguns - still the reserve ammo is WAY to low. Buffed? My arse - what by 10 rounds? Just give handguns 110 reserve rounds ffs? Scouts get 200-210 so why not handguns at 110? Or 100 even? Suros regime - it's an auto rifle (spin up) drains ammo and now the ammo drought nerf makes it very tough to consider this as a viable exotic option. Quillims got screwed. Pvp changes really ruined this gun. It's great but over nerfed in pve.
-
Just revoke the nerf, and lower the amount of ammo from boxes in PvP.
-
Or just revert ammo changes for PvE only. I don't care what they do for PvE and I don't get why PvP is so obsessed over. You realise that is the driving force behind 99% of nerfs. If people just went back to CoD or Battlefield and stopped being idiots the game would be a million times better.
-
Reduce cool downs Separate cool downs by ammo type Add a mappable hot key to activate
-
Agreed
-
The solution is reverse the fracking ammo nerf, along with every single weapon nerf they have ever done , for PVE players. The game feels like watered down crap now.
-
Great idea
-
And allow different types to have separate cool down.
-
Bungie do something that benefits the players? Lolz

I claim credit for this. I said it first on the last destinytruthcast. You sir are in violation of a copywriten idea. My lawyer will be sending a Cease and Desist in the morning.

I like the idea!

Makes perfect sense
