What does Hidden Hand actually do?
I've heard a lot of very different things about this perk. I'd like to know what's actually going on.
[b]Does it increase the value of the aim-assist stat?[/b] If so, what is the value?
I've heard it was data-mined that it actually doesn't increase the AA stat, but it improves some handling mechanic that feels similar to AA. Is there any truth to this? If so, can someone explain in more detail?
[b]Can stats be improved beyond 100?[/b] I have a Weyloran's March with Shortgaze/Ambush, life support, and hidden hand.
• Weyloran's March has an AA value of 79,
• Shortgaze adds +20 (making it 99 AA).
With the hidden hand perk, would it just be redundant to use shortgaze? If stats are maxed at 100, and hidden hand does increase the AA stat, then it would seem redundant to use both, because you wouldn't get the full benefit out of both perks. In this scenario, using Ambush would make more sense, despite the AA penalty.
But if Hidden hand doesn't actually increase the value of the AA stat, and instead just improves some base handling mechanic, then it would not be redundant to use both shortgaze and hidden hand.
Any information is helpful. I'm mostly more interested than anything else.

10 RepliesAA on snipers makes it where your scope slows down when moving it over an enemy. The higher AA, the slower it will move when scrolling the scope over an enemy. This helps with like drag scopes and that sort. For instance, a sniper with really low AA like efrideets Speere with ambush has roughly like 8 AA I believe. This means that for the most part the scope will not have any stickiness to a target where as a sniper like your weylands March would be very sticky on targets. AA on primary guns actually have the ability to bend bullets very slightly. The higher AA the more the bullet has potential to bend. Hope this helps

Yes, there is a hidden value for 'aim assist' on all weapons, but in Destiny, 'aim assist' contains a whole suite of different mechanics. Don't listen to someone if they tell you they know what Hidden Hand does unless they give you video comparisons or specific lines of code or captures of the API, because so far I've not seen any verifiable evidence of exactly what it does. And Bungie like it this way. They describe everything in vagaries because they don't want end users to analyze the game in terms of quantitative values and numbers, but rather by 'feel.' And they do a fantastic job of not explaining things but really getting you to feel the difference certain things make in the gunplay (if you pay close attention).

The only difference I've been able to tell is that it seems to make the weapons handle a little smoother and makes the cross hairs a little sticky.
