How do you do to always aim the head with a sniper ? tips please !

I just saw the video of Nkuch and I just don't understand how always he can aim perfectly (or sometimes be close) of the head. When I try to snipe I am not always close to the head and sometimes I am very far from the guy that I try to kill and... he kill me before. Please do you have some reel tips to give to improve "headshot acquisition" ? I saw video about pre-aim and drag scope but It not always working for me and I think I missing something. Guys do you have some tips please?

Its invisible but you can somewhat place the reticle on the head. You cant exactly no scope cause the bullet will come out at a random direction, but if you scope in the reticle will be on the head. Or crosshair placement. Players like nkuch have pretty much memorised and instinctively know where the crosshair is, without there actually being a crosshair. Its a mark of an experienced player imo Edit: i think the jez has a video on this. Check that out as its pretty cool.

            • Just scope onto something, unscope, and see where the invisible crosshair is. The better you are at recognizing, the better sniper placement you will have, making shots much easier to land.

Buy 1,000 yard stare its the only sniper people use, it has the highest aim assist (this might have changed). When you get better buy a higher impact sniper because you wont need the aim assist anymore. Try to keep moving 1 or 2 kills then switch positions unless you know you are safe try for the drag shots its feels good when you get them. Use all the guns and decide what you like.

As others have said, figure out where the head would be, then aim. You could practice in PvE. Sniping just takes practice. Depending on the player aim assist might or might not help. I'm better with Praedyth's Revenge which can have about 10. My 1k Yard Stare has about 40. I learned to snipe with older games with little to no aim assist. I also find Ambush the best scope for me because it has very little sights on the scope. Tacsys adds 15 AA, but has great sights IMO. 1. Find the best type of sniper for your play style. 2. Find the best scope for you. The actual sights have a greater impact for me over aim assist. 3. Practice. Start out in PvE and practice in multiple situations. Move, stay still, move your sights and combinations of the above.

                        • 1 guy I was playing Trials with said he had a laser pointer that put a little dot on his screen so he knew where to aim for the most part, your gun is already pointed directly towards your enemies head if you are looking directly at them, try not to move the scope too much

                          • Step 1, learn the maps. Step 2, learn where head positioning is from different angles. Step 3, aim at where their heads should be, and if they are close, 'drag' your cursor towards their body. Step 4, practice timing. There isn't a cheat or broken system to it. It's all in practice. The more you practice the better you'll be. All the best snipers are that good because it's ALL they ever do...

                            • The tip about finding out where the centre of the screen when not scoped is a really good one. One thing I would suggest is not to get obsessed with headshots. I think Bungie did an interview with kjhovey where he talked about the value of body shots. They still do a ton of damage, especially with a high impact sniper. If your enemy is already weak, you may not need a headshot. I would also recommend finding a sniper you like using and sticking with it. Since Weyloran's March dropped for me I always use it in PvP. Only does 250ish to the head (low impact) but it handles great, very little recoil and good rate of fire.

                              • When you run there is a little triangle in the middle of your screen. That is the center of your screen when you aim in that is where you will be aimed at. Get good at finding head lvl befor you check a corrner and aim into the corrner. Or try to get better at centering your screen on the target befor you aim in. The closer you are when you aim the less you have to adjust the faster you can kill. I am by no means a great sniper but I have been trying to get better. Oh and a lower sensitivity setting helps as well.

                                • Everytime I feel the adhesion of the target reticle to a specific spot on the screen i pull the trigger. Do a constant rate turn and wait for the slowing feeling. That slowing is the target acquisition of the aim assist. Just keep doing it and paying close attention to the slowdown in your turn rate and the reticle adhesion. You might start hitting chests, but in a week or so you'll be doing headshots.

                                    • Just figure out the head level of a guardian, learn for to pre-aim a bit, and the rest is all practice. I've heard putting a small red dot on your screen itself where the reticle of your sniper always is will help practice.
