If he was 14 I would say yes, he would be smart enough to play a game like this and understand the dystopia, it's pretty cool. 12 seens too young imo.

Wait, when I was 12 I started playing Resident Evil 2.., so it's more related to education and orientation your son receives about violence than to the game itself or his age.
