I, myself, am a Deaf Gamer. I can't tell you exactly how many times I have been rejected or kicked out by leaders via FireTeam or Raid when I tell them, "I don't use mic n I'm deaf". It has been the mostly worse discrimination experience I ever had. It would be so nice if there was a full FireTeam of Deafies (Hunter,Titan and Warlock) I know there are some cool hearing people who don't mind playing with us, but they rely on mic very much. Thank God I have made Crota End, Vault of Glass so far. I just reached Oryx in the King Fall Raid yesterday. I had to deal a lot of discrimination yesterday. This discrimination is enough. 😡
Bungie should do something to restrict the discrimination thing. We, Deaf Gamers, have the right to join and play. You have no right to kick us out which is a sign of discrimination/Racist.
Update - I have edited by removing the suing thing. I have added one more thing to add why I felt it was discrimination and racist - Thank you all for your concerns by pouring lot of comments
Then why the -blam!- I spend $75 for taken king collector edition dlc and get booted from raid more than a thousand times cuz I don't use mic ? And I had a gamer named (-snip-) telling me I can't do the King Fall Raid without a mic. He also mentioned, " There is no way for a deaf person to do the raid". You know, I really want to smash his face onto the cement pavement. That's discrimination and racist. I have tried to call Bungie and send a post to Bungie via Facebook thousands thousands times. They don't respond back but they do respond by saying, "IDGAF". They care about making money because Destiny was a huge mess at first.

2 RepliesEdited by EggyFlashlight: 10/20/2015 12:41:22 AMYou know the same thing happened to me. Despite me being 306 light, these guys didn't let me into the raid just cause I wasn't able to see oryx. god why does bungie have to h8 on blind ppl
-
You lose all credibility in your argument by claiming its bungie's fault, and even more so by crying racism.
-
How is it racist? Didn't know deaf people had their own race
-
4 RepliesBungie is racist because some kids kicked you out of a raid because you're deaf? I must ask are you mentally handicapped as well as deaf?
-
My wife is deaf though I am not, so I am familiar with your struggles. I have no problem with people who don't use a mic. One of my favorite people I play destiny with doesn't have a mic.
-
Tldr; but if ur on ps4 add me, I'll run with ya anytime!
-
Xbone or 360?
-
Ill raid with you! Feel free to add me

1 ReplyEdited by BionicTopHat: 10/20/2015 12:43:22 AMIt's not racist deaf people aren't a race. Also next you'll want the blind to be allowed to raid.
-
Edited by Dyldo-_-Baggins: 10/20/2015 12:41:22 AMIt isn't racist lol. Deaf isn't a race. It isn't even discriminatory Also, why are you blaming bungie? Plenty of things require communication. The fact that people are excluding you isn't bungies fault at all. Sorry if I came off as rude, I feel for you.
-
It is not bungie's fault man, sorry about your experience though.
-
Edited by x0PF0Rx: 10/20/2015 12:37:18 AMSign language emotes? Seriously tho, could you imagine players being able to communicate with their actual characters? How rad would that be? And it would take some skill.... im on to something here i think.
good money maker for bungie too
-
What?
-
Just tell groups you know what to do, you literally don't need to say a word to actually do the raid , especially if you mastered the mechanics.
-
I know it probably sucks being deaf, but why do you expect people to handicap their team just to play with you when they most likely dont have any attachment to you? People arent going to cater to you just because you are deaf.
-
How do you know you are experiencing discrimination? You can't even hear what they are saying. They probably just called it a night and kicked everyone,
-
I have tried to call Bungie
This makes me question the legitimacy of your claim to being deaf. We have beaten Kings Fall with a deaf guy a few times now. Its not impossible, but it is hard, and requires more than simply going to a LFG site and expecting teams to let you raid. Our deaf friend puts in the effort studying the raid before hand, and we put him in positions that don't require communication (Ogres on oryx, adds on sisters) and we do fine. Become part of a clan, and build a reputation of being competent despite your disability, and you'll find a team to raid with, but claiming the bungie is discriminating against you is a bit over the top, considering they just make video games, they can't force people to play them with you.

6 RepliesEdited by VisageOfAnAngel: 10/19/2015 11:38:37 PMA.) Deaf is not a race ergo not playing with you because you are deaf is not a "sign of racist" (sic). -- 1. Racism is the action. -- 2. Racist is the person, culture, or organization. B.) Discrimination doesn't really exist at a personal level. -- 1. A police officer cannot see you ignore another person (for any reason) and charge you with discrimination. -- 2. If you were a business and you refused a customer based on a specific trait then it'd be discrimination. -- 3. A person choosing to not do a personal activity with another person is not going to be called discrimination. C.) Bungie/Activision are not the ones kicking you from raid teams so any frivolous lawsuits would have to be made against the actual people who kicked you. Good luck with trying to get anyone to take a charge like that seriously though. D.) Communication is actually important in King's Fall. -- 1. There are call outs that must be made or you will die. -- 2. You dying affects the rest of the team's ability to play. E.) Git gud, skrub.

That is not Bungie. That's the jerk players.

6 RepliesEdited by 氷水啼エジル・ギュミ: 10/19/2015 11:10:45 PMBut Bungie isn't responsible for the behavior for their player base who aren't accepting deaf gamers And, as sad as I am to say this, in today's society most people wouldn't want to play with people who are deaf. I wouldn't mind carrying a deaf person through the raid. I actually played with a deaf swordbearer back in the Crota days. For being impaired he sure was -blam!-ing good at being a swordbear, considering most people as a swordbear, rely on talking about telling people when to take crota down. Hard mode. No wipes. I think its awful to discriminate like that. Everyone should be able to enjoy gaming online, no matter their disability... I'm sorry to hear you're deaf my friend.

2 RepliesYour stupidity made you deaf...
-
1 ReplyI think bungie is also discriminatory towards pirates because you need to use both your hands to play destiny. How do they expect pirates to play the game when one of their hands is a hook. Bungie really needs to address this. They are begging for a class action lawsuit if they don't address this soon.

2 RepliesKings fall is still fairly new, some people are still fully learning the mechanics and want to communicate with others to learn it better and with hard mode coming out on Friday communication is going to be even more important, this is less discriminating against deaf people than it is just not accounting for them. Deaf players are an extreme minority in this community so from a business perspective it's better to cater to the majority of your audience than it is to a tiny fraction of it, given time they could even add features to help deaf people but as of right now that probably isn't a priority. Your shitty attitude isn't doing you any favours either, you can't expect people (raiders no less) to drastically alter their playstyles on the off chance that it helps you a little. Also since when did deaf people become an entire race, did I miss the memo or something?
-
1 ReplySo uh, serious question here... how does a deaf mute make a telephone call and expect that to go anywhere?
-
This is not bungie's fault
