The appearance I want, with the upgrades I need...

I don't like complaining, especially about a game that I love so much and have supported since its announcement, so this little rant was actually pretty hard to write (not to mention that I'm shit at spelling). As I mentioned earlier I have been a huge supporter of destiny since it was first announced and even pre-ordered it the very day it came available and have only one major complaint outside of small balance suggestions. My greatest vice with destiny is that it is almost entirely impossible to work towards a specific build and have an appearance that you like. Even if you ignore or don't care about appearance, the fact that vendors like vanguard and faction gear never change upgrades makes it almost impossible to create your own special build unless you are immensely lucky and either find the perfect piece of armor from a strike or crucible match (the odds of this are astronomically low) or (even less likely) the vendors happen to be selling the perfect piece for you. Prior to taken king (and still in the armory) it says that year 2 legendary gear can be reforged and I was HUGELY disappointed to find out this wasn't true. I understand if reforging must be taken out for balancing reasons (not really, that is stupid) but it should at least be possible for the upgrades on the vendors gear to change (perhaps bi weekly?) or some other way to get the appearance I want with the upgrades I need.

  • Yeah, if its a balancing issue than reforging would make things MORE balanced. Instead of 2 people having op perks and trashing everyone else, everyone would be able to choose their perks and PVP becomes about skill and perk preference, and not 100% rng based rolls. It seems like they want to make destiny pvp akin to Super Smash Bros with all the items turned on, tripping, and special modifiers etc. Not very competitive or fun imho.
