Is this mission broken or something? I wouldn't class myself as a 'good' player, but I've found all the missions relatively easy so far and even managed a few on hard (an achievement for me!). But this is ridiculous. I'm level 27, playing The Wakening level 26 story on normal, and it just seems impossible. I think I've died thirty times so far, at least, and it's incredibly infuriating. This even more so as there isn't even a checkpoint after you kill the four Wakeners of Crota, who are pain in the arse. I've come so close to finishing only to die, again and again. Is there any way to do this? I tried sitting up on the bones like most recommend but it didn't stop anything from hitting me and I couldn't kill the Wakeners quick enough to regenerate health.
(if any of this information is incredibly wrong, it should be noted I only started playing the game 5 days ago).

9 RepliesThis is actually a pretty hard mission assuming you don't have every gun in the game. Even hiding in rocks and sniping with IB for me lead to some close calls. Generally speaking, divide your weapons ATK level by 10, that will give you what level it will be effective up until. If you're under it's going to be a challenging activity for you. I wouldn't be overly discouraged however. Since you only got it 5 days ago you are actually in a pretty good spot. 27 already, a good roll on your legendary HMG. Level and weapons do matter so if you find an activity too tough just come back to it once you are better equipped. All you want to do now is focus on getting legendary + exotic armor if possible. Best thing to do in try and get your Vanguard and or Crucible rank up to Rank 2 so you can buy legendary armor and get to level 30+. Once you have a full set then look to get some weapons. Additionally, if you don't mind crucible then it's a great place to get a starter weapons (starts at 331 ATK). It will be difficult with the weapons you have, however getting loot isn't dependent on doing well.

This is the second think I've seen label this at level 26 I've been playing bout a week a mission here and there and on my game its saying level fourteen and I'm level 18 now this one mission is driving me ape shit insane as well. What I'd like to know is if it really is a level 26 mission that I shouldn't be touching case my game labeled level 5 as level 6 as well and shows no level five

The first time I tried it I was at your level and got wrecked. The second time I came prepared. Solar rockets for the first batch of wizards, solar shotgun for any remaining majors. It's a breeze if you take the Wizards out, keep an eye out for exploding thralls, and stay out of the melee range of swordbearers. Just keep moving. Camping is a scrubby tactic to begin with, and nowhere near as effective as running routes.
-
A tip for crucible, should you want to start: the best way to get good is to level a character from 2-20 exclusively through normal crucible. Expect to lose every encounter, but try to win and learn when you do.

Move ALL the time! If you stay in any one place you will not last long. It is a hard part of the game but you can do it. If your weapons are not powerful enough do some other levels then go back. Have fun!

Yea I'll be honest, when I first started playing, a lot of missions were actually hard! I found myself for hours trying to beat the shrine of oryx mission on hard. I'm glad this game still challenges some!

Wait for your super to fill befor starting the fight. when ya ready kill only the knights. The witches will stay at the soul and not bother you as long as you dont shoot or agro them. When knights are dead then super a witch or 2 then run up the middle of the ribcage to the back and hide behind the last bone. You should be able to safely take out the remaining witches from there and thrall dont seem to be able to see you there.

There's a rock in the back of the giant rib cage you can sit on. Take the Wizards out one by one then run to the cave or sit there.

That mission sucked, took me a while to get thru it my first run thru. But if you need help on anything, I'm on PS4
-
Take out the Knights , rocket and shotgun wakers, hide out in back cave, worked for me.
-
I found that If you keep moving (using the whole map, moving in counter clockwise or clockwise direction) you can manage the onslaught of enemies better. Using the cave for cover and other objects will allow you some time to get a close range shotty off. Be sure to constantly fire at crotas soul the whole time. Definitely makes you clinch, font forget to breath! lol

You need something solar for the witches. You need a full rocket launcher for the crystal. If you stay back on the left of the green vestige on the ground you can pick off the first two knights then the second two. Then kill the thrall. Here the important part, if you stay back near the vestige and only shoot one witch at a time the other three will not move generally and you can take care of them one at a time. It's really quite easy I beat it twice on my cousins account and he was a 26 or 27 with nothing but Murmur. Once the witches are gone you shoot all your rockets at the crystal once it starts floating. Might need a few additional shots to finish it off with primary/secondary depending on your level and rocket.

2 RepliesEnjoy it while it lasts. The game will only be tough for so long until you get the gjallarhorn
-
3 RepliesYour problem is that you are using the new monarchy bond, dead orbit or bounce. Lol nah, try using a rocket launcher. Concentrate more on clearing the room and them putting damage on it. You could also find someone to help you through it. I'd help but I'm on Xbox.

That is a tricky one. If you want to add me (stuartd on psn or xbox001 on xb1) then I'm happy to run it with you. The easiest and quickest way I found to get new legendary guns was playing control in the crucible. -
-blam!- everything and go straight in for the kills on the witch's with what ever solar weapons you have then go chill in the cave at the back and blow the crap out of his soul.

I find, if you only shoot at and kill off one Wakener at a time you will find it possible to defeat them all on your own.
