What does Xbox One Backwards Compatibility mean for destiny?

I'm looking to upgrade from 360 to xbox one around Christmas time. If I plug in my 360 version of destiny do I play on the Xbox one servers or the 360 servers? I know there was a way to upgrade your version to next gen, but it was only for digital download and I have the disc. (Which btw is really dumb, I don't need a new disc I'd gladly upgrade to the digital version instead if I could).

You will be on 360 Servers, but Destiny on 360 will probs never work on the Xbox One (imo). Here's why: Microsoft is only allowing backwards compatibility for games with permission from publishers. So Destiny probably won't be one of them for two reasons: - The game is already on Xbox One/360, PS4/PS3. - The game makes a lot of money on all platforms. This is just an hypothesis btw. Also, for other games, we unfortunately live in the world of remasters, so there will be a lot of games that won't have backwards compatibility cause of this.
