[b]Why are most people using Thorn in Crucible[/b]? -It's OP. [b]Why is there a sizable majority that are anti-Thorn nerfers[/b]? -They use Thorn and crutch on it. -They "earned" it, so it deserves to be OP. [b]Why do people say Thorn can be outgunned by their Suros or other low/medium tier weapon[/b]? -They lack crucible experience evidenced by low stats. -They can't use Thorn or any other gun accurately for that matter. [b]Why is Thorn OP[/b]? -DoT takes recipient out of battle by inhibiting recovery time. -Two critical hits are a kill or worse--a kill and assist for the Thorn user's team(for you noobs out there, assists are huge for winning games). -Engagement time is 0.36 seconds per kill. [i]This time can be lessened[/i] if cover is utilized to weave behind in between shots. -This low engagement time means less exposure to fire from the enemy team(I.e. Less damage received). -The DoT can be seen through objects; thus, you know exactly where your weakened opponent is located. [b]How do you fix Thorn?[/b] -Give the DoT effect a 20-30 second cool down in PVP only. -Alternatively, reduce DoT to 1-2 damage per tick(again, affecting only PVP). -Alternatively, Players damaged by Thorn will be able to see the Thorn user's silhouette through objects while DoT is active. In short, Thorn has too much going for it. The Thorn needs to retain its power, but it needs to have greater risk when used. With any of the above changes I suggested, it would still be quite viable, but not yield over usage within the crucible, as we currently observe. Edit: It appears many of the anti-Thorn nerfers aren't very experienced within the Crucible. Your lack of experience and ignorance only bolster my claims. Edit 2: If you're k/d is over a 1.5, I'll take your thoughts into consideration. If above 2.5, I'll give your post full attention. I'm simply asking for experienced crucible players to weigh in. I like casuals, but I dislike those who comment, criticize, and yet have horrid stats in the Crucible. Show me respect, and I will do the same for you.
