Wish list for Destiny

When playing Destiny I have tons of moments where I think "you know what would be awesome..." and then trail off into whatever task I'm doing, discarding the idea to the side. Well, why not put the idea down somewhere and hope that somehow it gets noticed, maybe even used someday? So I'm going to do some brainstorming on the forums and invite all of you to do the same. I'm sure it's being done all over Bungie.net among other forum users, too. But the most common thing I see are people complaining about what they want fixed or don't have, then signing off with some angry statement about how they hate the game (yet it still merits their time to complain about and play it). There's a difference between constructive criticism and being a D-bag for no reason. So here are a few thoughts (but not all, still need to remember which ones I had but forgot!): - A social board at the Tower - Maybe down in that unused lounge area by the shipwright. You know, the place we only go to visit Xur when he needs a drink after intergalactic travel. Put up an interactive board where Guardians can visit and select from preset menu options like: Find fireteam/Create fireteam then select the type such as Crota [difficulty], VOG [difficulty], Crucible [gametype], Nightfall, Social, etc. and then even allow selecting something like Minimum level [20+, 25+, 27+, 30+, 31+, 32, etc.]. Maybe even allow for Clan invites directly from the board without having to hunt out every individual clan member. Upon submission of the "form" the top rated matches show up and the players can join up by selecting the fireteam they see. How great would it be to not have to spend time hunting on our laptops/tablets/smartphones through the forums, weeding out people that aren't on our system, adding in the new user's tag, messaging, adding as friend, joining fireteam... you see what I mean. - Larger vault space - OK, I know I've seen this one all over the place but I'm chiming in that it's on my wishlist. If it's not armor or weapons then it falls into General. That's like, well, everything! I have at least one favorite Legendary and Exotic of each type of armor and weapons on my characters. Aside from picking up Engrams and other drops in the field, the 9 spots for each section on my character almost completely suffice for holding what I need on hand. I use the Vault to pass Engrams and weapons/armor between characters, but rarely do they stack up. But all upgrade materials, consumables, strange coins and so on fall into General, which means the far right of my Vault is always filled top-to-bottom. So maybe we just need more space on the General section? - A real reason to carry a Pulse Rifle - I was really hoping the boost to the Pulse Rifles in the latest patch would make my Oversoul Edict more useful than just an Arc Burn run weapon, but it still truly feels like dead weight in my inventory. I want to love Pulse Rifles, but the improvement to damage was barely noticeable and no matter how much I modify any Pulse Rifle I touch, none make me comfortable in PvE. The clips are small, they drain fast and the damage they do is akin to a pellet gun. I was in the military and when I fired an M16-A2 assault rifle on single round fire vs. 3 round burst the only true difference was that 3 round burst had more kick and as a result maintaining a target was harder (ie Stability). But each bullet did equal damage to the target. The M16-A2 assault rifle (and others in it's class) is like a cross between the Scout Rifle and Pulse Rifle in Destiny. So shouldn't the Pulse rifles have higher impact and lower stability like the real life counterparts? My suggestion would be to significantly improve the Impact values on Pulse Rifles to truly make them useful. - Also, my Shotguns are more broken... - The Shotgun buff feels a bit like a nerf honestly. I appreciate the damage boost, but unless the enemy is kissing my barrel they don't feel any of it. It feels like when I fire from more than arm's length away with my Invective I just see a spray of 1's around the hysterically laughing Dregg. I want to use my Shotgun. It's always been a staple in the FPS genre and an effective one at that. But the Range reduction pretty much nullified the damage increase. Literally, my Hunter's knife wins in that gun fight. Besides, who wants to use a shotgun on any enemy when Lightswitch is on? That rules out Nightfall and Weekly Heroic usefulness. And at which point in either Crota or VOG do we have an opportunity to use a shotgun on anything but the weaker minions of the boss? I don't like hugging Minotaurs that can one or two hit kill a level 32 in VOG, so Fusion rifle easily puts a more comfortable distance between us. The Shotguns aren't typically don't fire quick enough, the ammo well isn't deep enough and the reload isn't fast enough to help with lots of Thrall in Crota. Heck, the Knights giggle at our puny Shotguns as they crack us with swords or boomer guns, and Wizards just spew poison at close range and we die in the ensuing onslaught as escape isn't likely. Even Acolytes cross that third eye at our shoddy shotguns. My suggestion would be to have a distinction between close range/high impact shotguns and longer range/Moderate impact shotguns like the Autos have. Boost the damage even higher for those closer range ones and simply boost the range for moderate ranged shotguns. If I am going to have to cuddle with an enemy for that shot, please make it so I can be confident he's going down in one or two blams square in the chest. I have more thoughts but that's just some that I had on the surface. I'm sure when I hop on later I'll think of a hundred other things.
