You can now transfer items to/from vault from this site or the companion app.
Best fix of the patch and it wasn't even announced!
Update for all the questions:
1) Yes it works in real-time during an active game. We tried it in the raid without any trouble. You can transfer or retrieve items and synths.
2) You can't change your active gun while playing. No idea why you'd want to but you can't.
3) Transferring between characters works as long as you first transfer the item to the vault and then to the 2nd character.
4) Transferring materials will produce a dialog asking how many you want to transfer. You can now split groups if needed.
5) For me at least this effectively great increases vault space since I can get rid of duplicates and centralize materials. No need to carry materials on every character. A lot of (extra) exotics are going to die today.

This was a very needed addition. I lost count of how many times I've said to myself, "Boy, I wish i had that gun on me right now" or "All my ammo synths are on my other character and I need one now!"

Can anyone tell me how you split up a stack of consumables?? For instance take 20 off a stack and put it in the vault ??

9 RepliesI understand the app... and it is a cool feature. By why go through all the work to add this feature to a phone and not add it in the actual game? I mean wouldn't it have been better to implement this into the menu or something?

11 RepliesWhile this is an awesome addition, there needs to be a way to make the website and/or app lighter weight. As it stands now, it takes almost as long to do a few transfers as it would to load the tower twice. All the java script and flash stuff that has to load takes forever. I have turned off 3D models on my phone and it's still a pain.

Best feature added to the website ever!!! Has anyone tried doing this from the xbox/ps console browsers? If it works there, then i don't even have to whip out my phone (though it's probably faster too). I know a lot of people don't like the LFG sites b/c they have to leave the game, but you really don't b/c those do work from the console browsers.

It works it's just a little slow it takes me back to the main screen every time I move an item which suck with a little more improvement the app could fix the vault space issue

Finally. Now if we can just skip the vault and transfer straight to a character. I was really hoping for the weapon swap to work in the crucible because that menu in game loads way too slow.
