some do it for the free marks or free chance at gear at the end. not all care if someone else is having fun or not for they dont and never will no matter what anyone wants.
and that is the problem in the game, it gives out rewards for no activity. it should give none if you do none. join at end and dont even put one shot. you get nothing that go around. stay with group for next run and earn it then.

Yes, i know why people do it, but yet again, i will mention. How is it fun to be playing a video game that you arent playing? There is no way you are enjoying it, because you arent experiencing it. Its stupid, and anybody who supports this or is ok with it is part of the problem

thing is bungie wont fix it ever. the easy fix would be to remove any reward if no action was done and then put a punishment where if you join and do nothing at all, not only do you get nothing but loose rep and marks for just standing there; but wont ever happen.

any attempt like this is always met with severe backlash. look at the timeout ban from reach. and Cod's failure of timeout in the competitive lists. it did nothing to stop quitters or afk'rs. in fact you can almost blame those attempts for this, for in reach it caused most to just go afk and let the rest do all the work.
