Shoulder Charge should have a Cooldown
Hello people.
I like this game, and play it often.
I think the classes are for the most part well balanced.
But one move stands out. the shoulder charge.
IMO a one hit KO should not be readily available every five seconds. Good titan players keep the option to ram you up constantly. resulting in many fists on my screen.
Put a cooldown on it please. not long. just enough to stop the spamming

Disclaimer: i wrote this post after playing crucible on my titan for long stretch of matches. Perhaps it is the influx of xmas noobs that made it seem so jokingly overpowered.

Think of it this way. Striker doesn't have a 1 hit Kill grenade. Voidwalker doesn't either but axion bolt just follows you.

It does have a cool down....the time it takes between starting a new shoulder charge...

Your mouth should have a cool down.

To stop a shoulder charge, use a shotgun when they are about to connect you with it, it always stop them as they can't avoid it once the shoulder charge animation is going into effect. This really demotivates them from doing it again. If you still can't do that, you need to sharpen your senses. The crucible shows no mercy to people who whine about abilities. They are there in the game so deal with it.

I do hate shoulder charge but if they did anything to it, it would be useless. Also it's very easy to counter. Someone just doesn't run at you without shooting haha. I do get caught off guard sometimes though especially when those f*uckers round a corner haha.

I main Titan and I believe that shoulder charge is an abomination. It just seems so out of place in pvp.

5 commentairesIt already has a cooldown. But one good option for balance could be: Hunter backstab has no cooldown. Basically, as long as you strike from the back, it's always a one hit kill with your melee. Warlock overshield-on-melee has no cooldown. This might balance things a bit. Warlocks would have a defense against shoulder charge, and Hunters would have a 1hitko melee move as well (that is harder to use)

I think that it shouldn't have a cool down, now before you call me a punk ass stupid Titan piece of queer bag, hear me out. The time it takes for shoulder charge to actually charge is its cool down, and besides, it lasts for about 4 seconds before you have to charge it again, and there's no guarantee that you can find someone within a 5 feet proximity of you within 4 seconds. And you can always shotgun a Titan before it shoulder charges you, and considering that around 85% of people in the crucible use shotguns, then that shouldn't be a problem for you.

Its as if you've never seen a Titan before... They have a cool down, that's why Titans can't constantly shoulder charge right after another. Besides doesnt warlocks and hunters have ridiculously long melee range?

It's my personal opinion that shoulder charge is under powered with shotguns as prevalent as they are. I've played with every class and it hardly makes up for titans many disadvantages in crucible.

Honestly, the only problem i have with it is that you can be using lift, but as long as you hold the button down you can shoulder charge from mid air. That just seems slightly ridiculous. O.o
