Why do people want Icebreaker So bad?
I'm Very Curious...
Edit 1: I do have it maxed at 331, but black hammer it better, they are Both Situational, One is better than the other, and that is..
Edit 2: Didn't think I'd get that many Responses, but it's a good gun..

10 commentairesBecause I hated being that guy in the raid who has to say no when it's asked, "does everyone have their Ice Breaker out?" After getting that weapon, I was able to get through the old hard raid in just over an hour two times (only two tries). It is such a difference maker, I can't even describe how much. The Templar went down in one try, Atheon in two passes. It's just amazing. While I'm sure the Hammer is good, if you miss those crit hits, you will be reloading after your 3 shots. And eventually, you will need an ammo cake. Now you can save that cake for your heavy and just focus on whatever task is at hand.

Regen ammo. P&T is good too. Like a laser rifle with zero recoil. Looking forward to black hammer if it will drop for me during CE!

1 commentaireBecause icebreaker can be a lifesaver. A boss killer. Enemies cower from it's distinctive sound. (Ok no they don't they just keep shooting back)... But most of all, it's simply because it's one of the best snipers. Along with P&T which I have and love as well. Honestly I want black hammer AND icebreaker. Call me needy.

Because regenerating ammo. And don't say Invective! That takes like 4x as long to regen a full reserve.

Some weapons (mostly exotics) are a good staple for any guardian. Icebreaker is powerful and generates is own ammo. That makes it useful across all modes in Destiny. Ghorn is a great powerhouse. Preydeths revenge for high firerate snipes. VoC.. Because reasons..

I cant remember the last time i used a special ammo synthesis . All that said and i like the P&T the best . High ROF and low recoil

I only like blackhammer for big bosses with easy headshots and that only applies to 5 bosses. Icebreaker is more useful overall because it is regens.

They are like the same rifle, but one has a little more stopping power, the other has unlimited ammo.

I think you have the answer from the other replies. Personally, I think P&T is the best sniper due to the high rate of fire and low recoil. However, regenerating ammo is such a big deal when cheesing a nightfall.

you said it yourself,both are situational. against bosses black hammer wins hands down. all others ice breaker has a huge advantage

Erm... Regenerating ammo with it. Then switch to black hammer. The true meaning of unlimited.

It's exotic so it should survive the lifespan of the game, high impact, self replicating ammo, nearly one-shots in crucible to the body! Exploding targets, lightweight....

Cus I don't have it. And need the grimiore :) also for the ammo regen when not on a boss. Black hammer for bosses with bigger crit spots

1 commentaireUnlimited ammo. Can't solo weeklies/nightfalls with juggler without it. If they would just put the ammo regen on another sniper, no one would be so hard up for the ice breaker.

Infinite ammo. Very high damage.

Also if you are doing a void or arc damage nightfall you can run out of ammo with your arc sniper then switch to Ice Breaker then switch back and bam you will have new armo without having to get another ammo drop. It doubles if your other sniper has a field scout perk so if you charge Ice Breaker to 6 your field scout sniper will have 12 shots

Overall it's prob the best weapon in the game High damage Versatile Endless ammo Exploding enemies so alittle crowd control Easy to use Long range so away from enemy damage No risk of blowing yourself up if another guardian runs in front of you
