late bloomer getting ready for raid, any suggestions?
Now let me say one thing, not a christmas noob, got this game in november, but due to work and such I haven't been able to play it.
Now I am able to play it, and I am leveling up my lvl 24 Warlock to lvl 26 to be ready for my first raid. I got all rare items atm, and am working towards legendary. I got some friends that'll be willing to help me out so I don't need anyone there. Just need some tips to help get me through the Vault of Glass. Chest locations, strategy, etc.
Any suggestions to help a late bloomer become legend?
EDIT: HOLY MOLY I have so many posts helping me out, thank you so much! I'll make sure to check back on this topic to know what I should do. If i'm lucky i'll beat the raid first try! Again thanks everyone ^_^ i'll be grinding in Destiny now to get to level 27-28.
EDIT: I should have made it clear, since there was a post or two, I do NOT have the dark below dlc, i'm asking for help on the VoG raid, plus I am on Xbox 360.

1 commentaireModifié par y0itsallen : 1/5/2015 11:10:27 PMIf you're running with some experienced folks and they have time to spare, ask to run the relic a few times. Honestly, the worst thing these days is to be stuck in a group that has little to no experience with the relic. Might just be me, but there are typically 2-3 folks that are very reluctant to grab the relic on Atheon. This leads to many wipes when they get ported and those with relic experience are on the outside opening the portal. Just give it a shot and you'll find that it's a lot easier than it looks. Jump + R2 is like the Titan's Fist of Havoc. It's your go to attack for the most part. R1 is a simple melee attack. L1+R1 launches the super which is much like a rocket attack. Used to take down Templar shield. Hold L1 for 1-2 seconds to cleanse yourself and teammates. Watch for the grenade cooldown. Mars/Left - Run down the right side so the goblins don't see you; Jump as high as you can and come down with R2. Venus/Right - Have someone nade/rocket the Minotaur to help with the shield. Run down right side and Jump+R2. It's best to try and land behind the minotaur so he can't attack you. The initial attack should take out the goblins, if not the next one should take care of them. If you're not running the relic, you are taking out oracles or on the outside opening the portal and killing supplicants. Listen to other's in your party, the relic holder should be letting your know when they are coming out of the portal. Ensure that no supplicants are outside the portal when they come out, otherwise they'll get blown up. The strategy for oracles, at Atheon, is to concentrate on the same oracle and to begin shooting immediately as they spawn. The HP increases the longer they stay up. Try to stay close to the other person shooting down oracles as it makes it easier for the relic holder to cleanse. If you feel as though you can't take out the oracles with just 2 ppl and the relic holder, feel free to send someone on the outside through the portal to help. If you are playing HM, the best approach to success is to NOT DIE. Unlike NM, there is no respawn until the instance is cleared.

Id say try and get to at least level 27 or 28 before you run it, it'll be much easier, but if you want a bit if a challenge or have high level teammates to help your probably fine as a 25 or 26, just play conservatively if your a lower level cause you'll go down much quicker from enemy fire, good luck guardian

2 commentairesOn my first raid I picked up the relic straight away and tried to hit the Templar with it, needless to say I got kicked from the fireteam, moral of the story listen to the more experienced players, all the best good luck.

Whenever you get teleported to venus during atheon, NADE THE MINOTAUR. It will help the shield person and improve chances of success.

This will mean repetitive wipes, but in the long run everyone will benefit. I suggest doing this during the Templar fight when it's in the middle. Have each person take it and do a little bit of the Templar part, wipe, repeat.

If you're low on health, just run. Don't try to have a shooting match with your enemy to see who will die first

While in orbit, establish 3 teams of 2 players, that you will keep for the whole raid (simplest way imo). 2. Put the strongest player with the weakest one in the same team. 3. In the 1st phase (to open the door) the team up in the middle, should support both left and right teams while defending their own. 4. Equip your best weapons, especially if they deal VOID damage. 5. Name ONE team leader.He's NOT the BOSS, but the one with the most experience, should take the lead, and the rest should follow. 6. COMMUNICATE! 7. There is PLENTY OF videos of it on youtube, go check them. 8. The videos on youtube showing the Templar cheese and Atheon cheese, are useless now (got patched). (Anyway you shouldn't cheese for your first time). 9. Everyone should have a mic (i know its not NECESSARY, but makes things much easier). 10. Make sure that all your players know how to handle the Aegis (relic) because during Atheon's fight, 3 random people will be teleported, and one of them will need to pick up the relic and kill the vex down the stairs. 11. When teleported on Venus, the 2 people who do not pick up the relic, should throw grenades and shoot rockets to the minotaur down the stairs before starting shooting at the oracles. Don't ask why, just do it . Hope this helps.

I finally beat it the other day on hard, first time ever doing the raid, havent done it on normal. The group was nice and they understood i never did it before so they walked me through everything. Just listen, ask questions on stuff you dont understand and have fun, makes it all that much easier on your team. As long as they dont mind your company since you are new to raiding you will be fine. If they dont like it find a group who does as your experience will be miserable. Good luck!

Buy the new vendor gear asap, you do not need the DLC for it and it will get you to 31.

Expect to not be able to find a team that isn't full of nintenyearolds, because that has always been my problem. Level 31, still never done either raid in full. (My crotard gear is from running solo)

1 commentaire26 is fine, but I would recommend grinding to level 27 if you can, it makes the raid a lot easier. Also destinylfg.com if you weren't aware of it yet, helps you find other players if you don't have a team already (:

Find a good group that teaches well and listen. Being a hero in a raid it out of necessity, not by choice : )

2 commentairesFor your first time ask if you can follow someone down the cave system don't let them all run off without you. Happened to me first time, fcucked if could find the way down and they ripped into me for getting lost and opened the chest before I got there. That shit is dark man.
