The fact that you will have to reset all the upgrade progress on an exotic to make it on par with the new exotics is absolutely ridiculous.
I usually support bungie in everything they do... But this is really just horrible what they are doing... No it won't make me play less, but it will make playing less enjoyable...
The entire forum is unhappy with this and honestly it is the worst.
Solution:
Add a new damage upgrade on to the upgrade tree when you upgrade it from xur... But do not reset the progress... A fully upgraded gun will still need to be upgraded to that final damage upgrade.
Source:
-Starting December 9th, Xûr will offer players the opportunity to upgrade Exotics to the higher Attack and Defense values
-Upgrading an Exotic in this way will require an Exotic Shard
-The upgrade will reset the progression invested into the item
-Each week, Xûr will possess a selection of upgrades for existing Exotics in his inventory
2 commentairesModifié par SickWicked : 12/4/2014 11:16:35 PMThat doesn't state that the damage is going to be reset the damage back to 260(prepatch) or 274(post patch) were it first started off. It also doesn't however confirm that it will start off at 300. But honestly going back to the original damage output the back up the the new 323 doesn't make sense. Unless Bungie really didn't think this 100% through (completely possible). I also doubt that if they did add damage bubbles that it would only be 1 - 3. All the exotics have 5 damage bubbles to level plus the perks... some of which also level the same time another bubble down the line is leveling. That being said... Let's go with the later of my first statement, that the gun will start off at 300 damage. Then you have to upgrade it up to its new max damage from there. My question is, what is the difference between leveling up 5 extra damage bubbles (added to your already leveled up exotic) vs leveling up version 2 of the gun with its damage starting already at 300 and it has the same exact amount of bubbles requiring the same amount of XP? Either way you are going to put roughly the same exact amount of time in leveling the gun to max damage again... Either way it still is going to do 300 damage. Edit: the fixing of typo errors

Modifié par Dr CheeseFiend : 12/4/2014 7:55:48 PMNew solution...just do it over again Did you all really think your exotics would stay uptodate without any effort? Yea it sucks but I just deal with it because I've expected something like this to happen since I knew the game was MMO-ish Edit: I like your solution better and I didn't expect you had a rational solution my apologies :)

2 commentairesModifié par Cormac : 12/3/2014 10:12:46 PMI was regretting not doing the upgrades on a few Exotics since they introduced Exotic shards but now I'm glad I didn't. Not looking forward to grinding them back up again or waiting on Xur to offer the weapons I want but it is what it is.

1 commentaireIt takes 3 or so days to max an exotic for me, just with bounties mainly and a bit of pvp. Not really grinding much. And now you can BUY materials, it isn't hard, it's just like prestiging a weapon. If you wanna max them out then go ahead and do it, it won't take long. If you don't then don't, no need to get so butthurt every time you don't like something about the game.

-blam!- bungie in the ass im done with destiny

4 commentairesHave you ever played Call of Duty? Resetting your Exotic is analogous to prestiging.

1 commentaireThe upgrades are a pretty significant portion of damage. Ive tested this on atheon during vengeance normal raid with a 300 dmg ice breaker and one I got from the chest during the raid. 300dmg ice breaker with weapons of light :~17.5k 260dmg ice breaker with same weapons of light: ~13.8k Its over 20% less damage.

Oh jeez. So much crying here. Giving Guardians a bad name.

I took a dump in my game case. I can't tell a difference from before.

10 commentairessimple. if you dont want to level your exotics to max level then dont upgrade them and leave them as is. if you want to upgrade them then the reset is justifiable. do you just assume that to upgrade items to become max quality in the xpac is just going to be free? why do you want everything spoon feed to you. And for any one with the comment but dur i wasted all my materials upgrading already. no you didnt the game has been out for 3 months, get over it this game like all mmo/aarpg style games is constantly in motion there will always be updates and new stuff. you have to work for it.

1 commentaireIf resetting exotics makes them start out at 300 damage, then I am somewhat okay with this. However, if it drops below 300 after "upgrading" them, that's going to be messed up.
-
1 commentaireAnd make that upgrade hard to achieve.
-
2 commentairesIf it ends up being true I have to grind out all my exotics again I would rather quit the game than spend another 7 - 8 days worth of playtime leveling up the same damn gear again.

Modifié par Nyx Moontide : 12/3/2014 9:23:40 PMYou had to reset progress on iron banner weapons to re-spec them, why should this be any different? Out of my 13 exotic weapons I can think of only one I even really want to increase attack, 300 is perfectly fine for a few others, and the rest aren't even worth wasting a shard on to upgrade fully in the first place. As for armor, out of the 10 I have I think I'm only going to reset 2 or 3, after all you can't use more than one at a time and certain ones are more suited for pvp than pve so that's maybe one to level 32 for raid and one to 32 for iron banner, rest can stay low.

2 commentairesIt's hardly the worst. That would be making the current exotics redundant. It's not the greatest system, but it allows you the option to bring your current exotics up to standard with the new ones.
